                                                          "Turkey Creek" Jack Johnson

Not  a lot of info out there on Creek Johnson.  He was friends with Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.
Rode with Wyatt and Doc on the "Tombstone Vendetta". The search by Wyatt to find the those he
deemed responsible for killing his brother Morgan.

Turkey Creek Jack Johnson was famous for taking his time during a gunfight. In 1876, Johnson challenged two men
to face him in the street. Each man strapped on two pistols. At a distance of a reported fifty feet, both men pulled their pistols and began to fire. Jack, cool as ever, kept walking towards the other two.

Both men emptied one pistol and started firing the other. At a distance of  thirty yards, Jack fired his first shot and killed one man. At this point, Johnson stopped walking and waited for the other cowboy to come closer. He then fired a second shot killing the second man.

Turkey Creek Jack Johnson is one of the lesser known gunfighters from the Old West. His association with
Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday brought him the limited recognition he has now.
