A Daughter's Pain

White as snow, Clear as rain... It is plain to see, My bleeding pain. You say I am disappointing And that I am nothing, And tell me that I am not worth This life I'm living. You say it is me you cannot handle, So I cloud before you as the smoke from a burning candle. For to you I have lost my value... Leaving me worthless and unsentimental. You spare me a kiss from your lips so cruel, Then leave me downing in a bottomless pool. For it is not I you care to save, But face from the world you foolishly crave. Black as night, Bright as day... I shall leave my pain, And wonder astray... Grant me one wish, And that wish I'll take, To leave this world... For my families sake. Punish them not for the sins I commit, It is my life I wish to forfeit. My life has been one of pain and anguish, This is the cause I am to vanquish. Deep within my soul is where I'll start To pick up the pieces of my shattered heart. And to leave behind the falling rain, And know no more of my tainted pain.
