Roses for Julie

Roses for Julie

Julie London passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2000.

She was very special to all Emergency! fans; her portrayal of Rampart's Dixie McCall was unforgettable. In an era when women on TV primarily existed as damsels in distress, or love-interests for the male leads, Julie played Dixie as confident, strong, graceful, and poised, no matter what the circumstances. She was a class act.

We will miss her very much, and we will always remember her.

It is a sad day for E! fans everywhere. While I appreciate her work in music and movies, I was first introduced to her as "Dixie McCall" and the character she brought to life there will always hold a special place in my heart. My condolences to her family and a "God Speed" to Julie where Bobby is waiting in the hereafter. --LaraLee (shedding a few tears for a beloved icon)
I too, am saddened by this, and send my sympathies to her family and friends. In the kindness of her stepping through that one-way door on Bobby's birthday, I'm certain they are reunited now.
May she now truly know how much joy she's given to us all.... --Theresa
My name is Maura Shea and I am too saddened by the death of Julie London. She was a positive role model for many young women, not only through her acting ability but her singing ability as well. I have watched Julie London on Emergency for the past 26 years and she has a special place in my heart. My sympathy goes out to her family. May she rest in peace. --Maura Shea
