About the Author:
On Little Cat Feet

Hi, there. My name is Rhonda, but I'm known to media fandom as R. K. MacBride. I chose the name of this page because most of the creatures in my house move around it silently on "little cat feet", as Walt Whitman so aptly said. One creature barks loudly and gallops around on big furry dog feet, but that's just the way Molly is... she can't help it (the cats think she's a four-legged Visigoth, except for the new cat, MacDuff, who thinks she's a cat toy...).

I'm from Denver, Colorado, born and raised right here in the Mile High City.

My interests are wildly eclectic, including (but not limited to) the following:

writing poetry,
writing fanfiction (Emergency! (recently) and Rat Patrol(since 1990)),
knitting,
tatting lace,
handspinning,
Scottish history and the Gaelic language,
World War II history,
Napoleonic naval history (yes, I'm a Nelson fan!),
the Mercury/Gemini/Apollo programs,
canine obedience training,
Keeshond dog rescue,
reading mystery novels,
Ancient Egyptian history,
Some science fiction/fantasy: Heinlein, Niven, Cherryh, Tolkien,
and Star Trek (original!),
and about several dozen other things. But those should give you an idea!

I have been a Christian since October 1979, when I was a freshman at CU Boulder. I am a member of the Church of Christ in Littleton, Colorado. In addition, I am an enthusiastic admirer of C. S. Lewis and his writings. If it were not for him, I would probably have given up on Christianity long ago.

Check out Rampart's chapel for some Christian links.

Update!

As of January 18, 2001, I am engaged to be married! We are bouncing off the walls, and ridiculously happy. The date is August 4. If you can't come, or are coming and can't wait, and you want to see the paragon I'm marrying (well, he IS.... He likes the dog, he likes the cats, he's a Christian too, he's not a mundane--he reads Harry Potter to me while I do the dishes--, and he's a dear), here's a snapshot:

This is my fiance, TayVon Hageman, sitting on the front steps of my house. The red and white hyacinths in the foreground, we planted together back in January.

Here's my sweet old cat, Ossian (age 16, we think), in his favorite warm spot under the lamp.

And Colleen, age 12, who has been with me the longest.

And, here's a shot of MacDuff, being more than usually cute:

And, last but not least, Molly Malone, the rescue Keeshond. She's Molly Malone because she's "out of the shelter, alive, alive-O."
