AngelCrypt Version 1.0 FAQ 01/15/2001 Q:I have a directory in my drive C which I called c_source, this directory contains multiple directories, how can I encrypt the c_source directory and all its subdirectories? A:Type in the command line: angel c_source -d, this is equivalent to encrypt all files and directories under c_source or c:\c_source, you can also type in angel c:\c_source. Q:I have a file named msocket.c, after encryption the file reads msocket.c.jrc, what I did is I rename the msocket.c.jrc to msocket.e, now when I decrypt it, the system did not restore the file to its original msocket.c, why? A:The system cannot restore the original extension of the file because it has no features to do it. I didn't include it because I think its not necessary and this is not a zip program. The only cure for this is decrypt the file then rename it to its original extension. The system can decrypt and restore it to its original state but not its extension or filename. Q:Is it okay if I remove the .jrc extension on a encode file? A:Yes its completely okay as long that the original extension is not modified, the system can still decrypt it. Q:I cannot find the help when I type -h, "message is cannot find angel.man" A:angel.man is the manual file for the system, this is a text file and must be place along with the angel working directory, you can get this file in the distribution. Q:I did not invoke the flag -d, during decryption, will this overwrite the original file? A:Yes Q:I encrypt a file with -d flag, it didn't remove the original file. A:You're probably encrypting a read only file, change the attribute of the file into a normal. refer to the angel manual or type angel -h for the valid file attributes. Q:Why console mode instead of Windows? A:Simple, I dont have time to program it in Windows and console is nice. :) Q:Why AngelCrypt? A:I like Angels, they are good guardians, and again I like the name Angel...Angel...
