ABOUT ME
Hi my name is Tom let me tell you a
little about myself and the equipment i
use. Right now i'm just starting out on
the net,I have been on the radio for
about 15 years now and I still have my
first radio I bought at a tag sale it
was an old Realistic TRC-30A and it
still works fine.But as the years have
gone by I have gone through a lot of
radios and learned a lot. Though I don't
know everything (i don't think anybody
knows everything), what I have learned I
would like to pass along to the people
who would like to work on there own
equipment (at their own risk). The
radio equipment I have now is a Cobra
2000 base unit w/ a Silver Eagle D-104
microphone (my favorite microphone) and
I also use a President Madison, just to
switch once in a while. I run my home
units w/ a Antron 99 antenna. I also
have a Cobra 148GTL w/ a hand-held D-104
microphone w/ a Wilson 1000 antenna (my
favorite mobile antenna) on one of my
vehicles and in my other vehicle I have
a Cobra 29XLR w/ a D-104 hand-held
microphone and a K-40 antenna (my second
favorite). I am known as Ct Hillbilly
unit 755 locally around the Northwest
Hills of Ct. I monitor channels 13, and
23 on the AM side and I monitor
27.535Mhz LSB. So when the skip is
rolling you might hear me out there if
we have the conditions!
