Michael Eric Hurst was born on September 20th, 1957 in Liverpool, England.
He is the eldest of three brothers. His brothers are Mark (age 33), Stuart (age 26), and a half brother Nicholas (age 9). His family moved to New Zealand when Michael was 8.
Michael is 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs 136 lbs. He is married to New Zealand actress Jennifer Ward-Lealand. The couple make their home in Grey Lynn, Auckland, New Zealand. They have a son Jack Louis Ward Hurst, who was born on January 25th, 1997.
Michael is a talented singer and dancer also, and enjoys yoga, boxing, reverse bungee jumping, and karate. He is also a fencing champion!
