Ghosts From The Past

Scene 1:

"This is so beautiful!" Shannon gasped as she looked over the moonlit water from the dock on which she and Dean stood.

"This is one of my favorite places." Dean responded. "It's a great place to come to sit and think or when you just need to get away from everyone."

"I can see why you enjoy it so much." Shannon smiled.

"My father used to take me fishing here when I was a boy." Dean walked over to the edge of the dock and sat down with his feet dangling over the edge. "We would sit right here with our poles in the water for hours. We never caught anything," he laughed, "but that never mattered It gave us a chance to be together, to do father and son things."

Shannon walked over and sat down next to Dean. "Do you ever get the chance to go fishing with your father now that you have gotten older?"

"No." Dean's face suddenly went pale as he looked as if he were fighting back a tear. "When I was 12 my father got really sick. The doctors weren't sure what was wrong with him, and my mom and I watched him waste away for months before he finally died."

"I'm so sorry." Shannon replied.

"It's all right." Dean forced a smile on his face. "I didn't take the news well at the time and I got myself caught up in all sorts of trouble. It took a long time before I was able to come back down here, but I didn't start to heal until I did. And now I comfort myself with all the memories I made with him."

"I feel the same way about my Uncle Sal. We were so close when I was a kid, and his death hit me hard. I didn't start to deal with it until Nicole and I moved out here. Now it seems that I don't have a choice. I just can't believe that he is gone."

A tear began to fall down Shannon's cheek. "Look at us, we're just a couple of sissies, aren't we?" Dean smiled as he wiped the tear away from her cheek.

"Yeah, I guess we are." Shannon started to smile back.

They stared at each other for a moment as their faces started to draw closer. Just as their lips were about to touch, they were suddenly interrupted by a voice behind them.

"Hey guys! What's going on?"

Scene 2:

Lilith walked into Sorbo's at 7:15p.m. She wore an classy blue outfit that fit her slim figure to a tee. Her blond locks fell perfectly into place on her head and her makeup was flawlessly executed. It was obvious that she took great pains with her appearance. Tonight, however, her elegant look was masked by the scowl on her face and the mean look in her eyes. She was unhappy to be here and it was obvious. She spotted Bruce in a small corner booth in the back of the café and made her way towards him.

"Never could bring yourself to make it on time, could you Lilith?" Bruce acknowledged without looking up from the menu he was reading.

"And you were never the one for small talk Bruce, so cut to the chase." She snapped back. "What is it that you want from me?"

"Have patience, dear Lilith. Please, have a seat." Bruce smiled as he indicated the empty seat across from his. "There is no need to rush things. I have such a lovely evening planned for us."

"You may have this evening planned, but it will certainly not be lovely."

"You're always trying to cut me down, aren't you? And you know how sensitive I am." Bruce got a hurt look in his eyes and then his voice changed to a stern whisper, "Now sit down!"

Lilith reluctantly took the seat across from Bruce. She carefully scrutinized the man from her past. He hadn't changed much in the five years since she had seen him last, but she did notice that he had grown a moustache and a little tuft of hair on his chin. His eyes still carried that same cold-hearted look and his smile had an edge to it that could send shivers up a person's spine. Overall he had an air of confidence, but Lilith knew better. Something had scared him, and scared him badly, otherwise he never would have risked coming back to see her. Even though he may possess enough evidence to ruin her, he also knew that she certainly had equally damaging information about him. They were about to start a battle of wills that Lilith fully intended on winning.

"I hope you don't mind," Bruce started once she had taken a seat, "but I took the liberty of ordering you your favorite drink. At least I hope it's still your favorite. Iced tea with a twist of lemon."

"I have a feeling I am going to need something a bit stronger tonight." Lilith glared back at him.

"Yes," Bruce started to laugh, "you just might. Let's order our food first, and then we can get down to business."

"Fine, but this better be good." Lilith responded, "Because I'm tired of playing games with you Bruce."

"Oh, it will be, my darling Lilith," a devilish smile appeared on his face, "it will be."

Scene 3:

"Willard!" Wally banged on the bathroom door, "You've been in there for hours. Are you feeling okay?"

"Stop bothering me Wally! Can't you see that I'm busy?" Willard yelled back through the door.

"But you haven't spent this much time in the bathroom since Brutus bet you $20 that the 2000 Flushes stuff that turns the toilet water blue wouldn't last more than 500 flushes. Besides, I know for a fact it's not time for your weekly bath."

Suddenly the door to the bathroom swung open. The mirror was blanketed by a layer of condensation caused by the steam of a hot shower. The counter was covered with an assortment of half used beauty products and something didn't smell right to Wally's finely tuned nose.

"What is that smell?" Wally's nose scrunched up as he took another sniff of the air. "Did you 'liberate' another camel from the zoo and try to hide him in here?"

"No. They won't let me in the zoo anymore, remember? It's my new cologne." Willard stated proudly, "Passion Pheromones. Do ya like it? The saleslady said that no woman would be able to resist it."

"Passion what?" Wally wasn't sure what was going on with Willard, but he knew he didn't like it. "That stuff stinks. Perhaps if you want to impress a lady gorilla or maybe a…"

"Oh, be quiet. You're just jealous."

Then Wally saw something that almost made his eyes pop out of their sockets. "Toothpaste?! Now I know you really have gone crazy, Willard. Stay right here, I'm calling mom."

"What's so crazy about using toothpaste?"

"For one thing, you don't have any teeth!" Wally cried out in desperation.

"I do now." Willard smiled big and displayed a full set of teeth.

"Where did…? I mean how…?" Wally's sensitive nature couldn't handle the situation and he simply fainted.

"And he thinks I'm the one with the problem." Willard shook his head and then dragged Wally to the couch.

Scene 4:

Kevin Dimira was sitting in his black armed chair, playing chess. The usual opera music was playing in the background.

"Uh, Mr. Dimira?" A man entered the room.

"What is it NOW?" Kevin asked annoyed.

"There's something you should know sir. The Widow Twanky is going to hold a seance at Nicole & Shannon Conrad's tonight."

"A seance!?" Kevin threw his head back and began to laugh. "They actually think they can conjure up that old man?" Kevin continued to laugh.

"Um, excuse me sir, but um, I've heard that seances can actually work. Especially if the spirit they are trying to contact is at unrest."

Kevin stopped laughing and his face got serious. "Nonsense! That old man cannot disturb my plans here."

"Whatever you say sir, but should I look into it?"

Kevin threw the man an annoyed glance.

"I mean...uh, because I know how important your plans are to you sir, and um, we wouldn't want to anything to ruin them." The man answered, very frightened of getting Kevin upset.

"Very well." Kevin replied, and went back to his game of chess.

"As you wish sir." The man turned and left.

Kevin started to move one of the pieces, but then pounded his first on the table, scattering them. "Nothing can ruin the plans I have in store for the people of Corinth, NOTHING!
