Chris waited for Nicole in the kitchen. Shannon walked in. "Hi Chris, do you know where Ryan is?" She asked.
"I think he--"
Before he could finish, Dean walked in. "What's going on?"
"I was just asking Chris where you were." She smiled.
Chris glared at her, she'd asked about Ryan not Dean. "Dean can I talk to you for--"
"Chris, now why would I talk to you when I can talk to this beautiful woman here?" Dean interrupted. Shannon beamed as he turned towards her. "Would you like to go back to the Riverfront? Our visit was kind of cut short the other day."
"Sure I'd love to. I don't really want to stay here anyway. Not after what just happened." Shannon got teary eyed.
Dean pulled her into his arms. "Aw it's ok, everything is going to be all right."
"I'll talk to you later Dean." Chris said annoyed.
"Don't wait up!" Dean replied as he and Shannon left the room.
Scene 6:
It was a beautiful, quiet night at the Corinth Riverfront. "Thank you for taking me here." Shannon said to Dean. "It's good to get my mind off of...well you know."
"It's my pleasure." Dean answered her.
Shannon smiled then sighed remembering all that had occurred earlier. "Tonight was so weird. I'm not even sure what happened. I mean I actually saw my Uncle Sal and heard him too, but...he's dead."
"I don't think any of us are sure of what happened tonight. We probably need a few days to let it all sink in." Dean responded.
"Yeah." Shannon said and wrapped her arms around herself.
"Are you cold?" Dean asked.
"Yes." Shannon replied softly.
Dean put his arms around her. "Better?"
"Perfect." She said and smiled. "It's so beautiful here."
"Not as beautiful as you." Dean told her.
Shannon turned around and smiled at him. "Thank you that's so sweet." She then put her head down.
"What's wrong?" Dean asked concerned.
"I'm just..." Shannon started. "I'm just scared now to go back there. I really don't wanna go home."
"Then you don't have to." Dean looked deep into her eyes and cupped her face in his hands. He then pulled her close and kissed her. She kissed him back and put her arms around his neck. In those moments anything that was bothering her, left her mind...
Scene 7:
It was a beautiful day outside and Ted was taking the opportunity to mow the lawn. It was a warm day and he had taken off his shirt and left it on the front porch.
Courtney, the O'Neill's neighbor, saw Ted outside. She had always had a crush on him, and was pleased to see that he was alone. She made her way to the O'Neill's lawn. "Hi Ted!" She said loudly so that he could hear her over the mower.
"Courtney! How nice to see you again!" Ted answered with a smile, and shut off the mower.
"You too Ted. Here, I brought you some homemade lemonade!" She handed him a glass.
"Thank you Courtney! You're always doing such sweet things for me." Ted was really thirsty from mowing and lemonade would certainly hit the spot. He tipped his head back and brought the glass to his lips. As he gulped it down, some of it slipped out of the corners of his mouth and dripped down onto his chest making it glisten in the sun. Ted let the final bit of lemonade splash on his face to cool it down. He shook his head and lemonade mingled with sweat flew in all directions from his head. When he was done he handed his glass back to Courtney "That was delicious, did you make it yourself?"
Courtney just stood there with her mouth open. She absent mindedly held out her hand and took the glass from him. "I've got to bring him lemonade more often" she thought.
"Courtney, are you okay?" Ted asked.
"Uh, yeah...I'm fine." She stammered. She stood there for another moment starting at Ted, and then finally remembered what she wanted to ask him in the first place. "Uh Ted, I was wondering if you'd like to come to my piano recital next week?"
"Sure, I haven't missed one yet!" Ted replied. "Any plays coming up? I know how you want to be an actress! Remember when you were little and you dressed up as that happy Sunflower?"
Courtney blushed. Why did he have to bring up that, she was 5 years old when that happened! "Yeah, but I'm a woman now."
"Yes, you certainly are." Ted replied. "In fact, there is something I've been meaning to ask you."
"Really?" Courtney asked excitedly. "You know I would be happy to do anything for you Ted."
"That's very nice of you Courtney." Ted smiled."You know that Renee and I are going to be having a baby soon and I was wondering if you would like to babysit for us."
"Uh...babysit?" Courtney replied. This wasn't exactly what she thought he was going to ask. "Um...sure, I guess."
"I knew I could count on you." Ted said. "Well, I'm all done with the lawn and I should be heading inside to see if Renee needs my help with anything. Once again thanks for the lemonade and I'll get in touch with you about the babysitting!"
Ted pushed the mower to the side of the house and disappeared behind the gate. Courtney just stood there with the glass in her hand and a disappointed look on her face.
Scene 8:
"Uh Ma?" Wally spoke into the phone. "It's me Wally. Ya know? Your son...No Ma, I'm not the one with the sideburns. I'm the other one...That's right Ma. I'm the short scrawny one who couldn't get a real job and had to go to work for his brother...Something is wrong with Willard Ma. Ya remember Willard right? He's the one with the sideburns...Yeah Ma, that's him. Anyway, he's acting awfully weird Ma. He's picking flowers, singing, and ma, he took a bath! He also started taking dance lessons and he refuses to watch WWF with me. And here the really strange part ma, he bought himself some false teeth! I just don't know what to do with him Ma. What do you think?...You want me to do an intervention Ma? What the heck do I know about giving an intervention?...Okay Ma, I'll try, but I think I'll have to get those stupid teeth away from him first. They give me the creeps...Okay Ma. Thanks for the advice. Bye."
Scene 9:
"YOOHOO!" Renee heard Twanky's loud voice outside her screen door.
"Hello there! How is the little mother doing today?"
"I'm fine thank you, and you?" Renee smiled.
"Oh busy as a bee. You know me!" Renee opened the door and Twanky walked inside.
"Oh do I smell something heavenly?" Twanky took in a deep breath.
"I was baking cookies!" Renee grinned. "You're welcome to take some home-"
"I bet it was one of the recipes I gave you!" Twanky interrupted proudly.
It wasn't but Renee wasn't going to tell her that!
Twanky swept off into the kitchen where the cookies were baking. "Do you have any red hots?" She asked.
"Well yes, but why do we--" Renee started to say.
"For the eyes, dearie!" Twanky interrupted.
Arguing was not part of Renee's personality, so she opened the counter to look for red hots. Just then Ted came in from mowing. "Its hot as he-" He refrained from finishing his sentence when he saw Twanky. "It's HOT out there!"
"Oh hello! I saw you outside mowing like a madman but I figured I would be more useful in here, and I see that I made the right choice! Twanky grabbed a duster and began floating around the house. "Oh my!"
"Thank you for your help," Renee smiled, "but I dusted this morning."
"It's quite alright dear! We tend to neglect things when we've got other things on our mind. Like your little bun in the oven there."
Renee didn't know what to say, so let the Widow dust. She knew there was no changing her mind.
Ted thought it best to start a new conversation. "I've got us a babysitter! Courtney from next door said she'd be glad to sit."
Twanky overheard and stopped her dusting. "Oh but dearies, I'd be glad to watch the little bundle of joy!"
Ted put his hand on Twanky's shoulder. "Twanky, you work so hard in this town."
"Yes!" Twanky agreed.
"And you'd be our first choice as a babysitter." Ted continued. Renee covered her mouth to stop from laughing. "And as hard as you work, we just can't expect you to do everything. You deserve a break."
"Oh, aren't you just the sweetest!" Twanky began to wipe her eyes and then embraced Ted tightly. Ted looked at Renee and she coughed to cover her laughter.
"Oh but I must get going! I need to check on Shannon and Nicole."
"Again, you do so much Twanky." Ted said.
"It is my duty!" She said and swept out of the house.
