My hero is Oskar Schindler. He saved over 1000 Jews from the Holocaust in WWII. If you haven't seen "Schindler's List" yet, you must! (Liam Neeson should have won the Academy Award in '93!) It is sometimes difficult to watch, but also incredibly inspirational. One person *can* make a difference in this world. So don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't. :-)
And did I mention the 80's? Oh yes, guess I mentioned 80's music. Well I also love just about anything else dealing with the 80's. I'm awaiting a comeback of the 80's hair and fashion, especially. Yes, I do want to take the time to curl my bangs in the morning! I also love 80's movies. "Ghostbusters", "Ghostbusters II", "The Neverending Story", "Ladyhawke", "The Burbs", "Legend", "Rain Man", "Spaceballs", "Clash Of The Titans", "The Goonies", "Labyrinth", and great horror flicks! I used to have a Freddy Krueger poster in my room as a kid. Had to take it down when my friends came. LOL for some reason it bothered them...
Ok, what else do I like? My friends of course! Especially my best friend in the whole wide world, Ultra. "Thank you for putting up with me all these years!" A special "Hi and hello there" also to CHRIS (Second only to Ultra), Lynn, Erin, Kliph, (Clifford, Klyph, Cliff, or however he's spelling it now!) Eric, and Allison! I also enjoy shopping, (Especially with Ultra!) studying mythology and religions, and watching figure skating! My favorites are Philippe Candeloro, Tanja Szewczenko, Brian Boitano, Naomi Nari Nam, Hartshorn & Sweiding, and Anissina & Peizerat. (They should have won Worlds this year!) I plan on going to the Olympics in Salt Lake City, and hey...do they need a singer for the opening ceremonies? I have 3 years yet to make it big! :-) Anyways, (Sorry got off track there!) I have an extensive figure skating tape collection, going back to 1988! My favorite tape is '94 Worlds, where Tanja Szewczenko took the bronze medal. I have a web page devoted to her, but lately this site has been my first priority. :-{ Oopos! (Yes, I say this instead of oops! No, I haven't *completely* lost my mind LOL, it's an inside joke between my friend Lynn and I.)
Before I end this, I have to say that I LOVE (Which is an understatement!) "Young Hercules", and dangit put it back on the air, or suffer the wrath of Callisto! Hehe she's my fave character, she ROCKS!
Alright I'm ending this sillyness now! This page is a lot of fun to make, and Nicole is awesome, ROCKS, BOULDERS, and puts up with me whoo hoo! (Another one of my fave things to say, and I've got Nicole saying it too!) Glad I met'cha! :-)
Hope you all enjoy the time we've invested in this! I LOVE RYAN GOSLING!!!

Actually, my career of choice is to be an author of science fiction/fantasy novels. I have just started my first book and hope to have it written by January 2000. I just hope when I get it finished that people will actually want to read it LOL. Being a writer has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, so I figured it was finally time to get off my duff and write it.
I also study martial arts. The art I study is called To Shin Do, more commonly refered to as Ninjutsu. It has a rich 900 year old tradition in Japan and was brought over by Stephen K. Hayes in the early 1980's and adapted for life in the west. It is a very practical form of self-defense and if there is a Stephen K. Hayes Quest center located near you, I highly suggest you check it out. If you want to know more about this art, check out these websites: Stephen K. Hayes Quest Center Official Site and The Westlake Quest Center, which is where I train.
I have been training in this art for 6 months and I recently recieved my yellow/black belt. It seems just like yesterday that I walked into the dojo, timid and scared, feeling as uncoordinated as a moose stuck in the mud. Now I can't imagine my life without To Shin Do. Not only has my self-confidence grown by leaps and bounds, but I now have a focus and a set of goals in my life. I recently attended the Fall Festival in Dayton, Ohio where members from all the Quest centers got together for a weekend of intensive training. It was an enjoyable experience that I'll never forget.
As far as my taste in music goes, I'm pretty much a country girl, but I do listen to some jazz and classical. I used to be a sax major in college and was in numerous jazz bands and wind ensembles. I put the sax down a few years ago, but hope to take it back up again in the near future. Some of my favorite country artists include Garth Brooks (I'd do just about anything to see this man in concert!), Brooks and Dunn, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill, the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, Patty Loveless and Trisha Yearwood. I've seen most of these artists in concert and they are all awesome performers. If they ever play a concert near you, I highly suggest you check them out (and feel free to invite me along).
Finally, I should mention that I abosolutely love Star Wars. I have seen the movies numerous times (like every other civilized person in the world) and read almost all the books. I saw Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and all I can say is Ewan McGregor is HOT! Something about that braid is a total turn on. I have had a huge crush on Luke Skywalker ever since I was a kid, but I was crushed when I sent him the only fan letter I had ever written and never got a responce. Sigh! But Luke is no match for my new love interest, Chris Conrad. I met him at a convention and shook his hand. It was pure magic! I think we were made for each other, so hands off Shannon!
Oh, one other thing, this is my first web page. If not for the teaching and goddess like patience of Shannon, I would have thrown my computer and all that confusing HTML out the window months ago. Thanks Shannon, it's a pleasure working with you. Girl, you BOULDER!!!
