It took a long lucrative contract, a sizeable signing bonus, stock options and a lot of begging from both Erik Zieba and Marcus Gottfried, but what I like to call the “Allied Powers” have finally done it. They have acquired the services of the most fantastic, charismatic, automatic, love-maker, bed-shaker, newspaper-breaker that the world of journalism has ever known. I, King Feisal, III, will give the fans of extreme wrestling international the greatest thrill in literary history by publishing my column “King’s Corner” in conjunction with the Extreme Wrestling International touring schedule. Thus, you will have the esteemed pleasure of reading my rapier wit on a card-by-card basis, usually pre-event.
(EDITOR’S NOTE: King Feisal is not under contract with Extreme Wrestling International and/or Super Sports Network.)
But enough about me, let’s talk about what everyone wants to know about, my men and your fantasies, the Vital Idols. Currently I have graciously yielded my managing duties of the Idols to the lovely Melissa. This has allowed me to focus on my true area of expertise, finances. Melissa will continue to plan strategy for “Turn-On” Tony Sajec and Sky Suicide while I will use my marketing genius to effectively bring in revenue to support the celebrity lifestyle of my two champions.
On to the league happenings…
It appears I am not the only business mogul closely involved with the superstars of Extreme Wrestling International. Shawn Daily, President of Junon, has recently come forward to support long-time friend Angelus in his struggle up the ladder in EWI. Through both political and financial means, Daily assembled an army of enforcers some time ago to guard his city (and business venture to my understanding) Junon. Apparently, Angelus was one of the first of Daily’s hired muscle. Junon’s army recently made their presence felt with an attack on Kin Hiroshi, beating him severely following Hiroshi’s match with Angelus at Bad Blood. Shortly thereafter, Ruiner debuted by dropping a battered Hiroshi headfirst onto the parking lot asphalt. Not a pretty picture. With Angelus, Ruiner and a host of other soldiers at his disposal, Shawn Daily is well armed to help his men succeed here in EWI.
Speaking of Kin Hiroshi, what is the deal with this guy? Not to question the man’s ethnic heritage, but I believe Hiroshi is becoming more “Americanized” with each passing day. For example, when we first met Kin back in March he was a shy, polite young man just looking for a friend. Even before Ruiner dropped him on his head, we began to notice a change…the flashy outfits, the constant references to his homeland. Then came the martial arts flashbacks and this muffin binge. We learn more about Hiroshi every day. Sometimes, more than we’d wish to know…
“Hellfighter” Michael Patrick Shultze has always been adamant about his faith, living and espousing Christian values inside and outside of the squared circle. However, the squeaky clean exterior of the Hellfighter recently seems to be giving way to a demeanor that I find less becoming of someone who professes to be so devout. I’m going to point a finger here at Miss Tania Beatty. Ever since she began touring with Shultze, I’ve seen a more, albeit slightly, self-centered man. Making people famous? That sounds like an Eddy Love quote to me. What the girl wants is the champion and I can’t blame Michael for trying to give it to her. At least Tania’s getting what she wants, that’s more than Victoria McCave can say.
It seems to me that Marcus Gottfried and Erik Zieba are trying to recruit all the friends they can find these days. Gottfried bought The Assassins and Eddy Love. Zieba has mended fences with The Dark Carnival. I’m proud to say that my Idols have not “sold-out” like so many of the money-grubbers in the league. Now where did I set my glass of Kool-Aid?
Plenty more will be covered in my next installment. Until then, keep dreaming.
