8/16: Sorry for the delay in Pac updates but news has been slow lately. 2Pac has been nominated for 2 MTV Music Awards. The show will air 9.9.99 on MTV. He is nominated for best rap video and best editing.
It is rumored that Deathrow will be releasing a 2Pac/Outlawz album this November but Deathrow has claimed it would release Pac albums several times and were still waiting. 6/26: In last months issue of the SOURCE with Snoop on the cover, there was a detailed article about him. It talks about him goin back to his Cali roots and how him and No Limit's Beats by the Pound just didn't mix, yet he also talks about Pac and his last days. Snoop says that him and Pac were "tight as fuck" before he signed to Deathrow but after he signed with Deathrow they weren't as close and it was more business oriented. He also talks about Pac's last days, and after he got shot in Vegas, Snoop visited him in the hospital and kissed him on the head and said he loved him.
As if it wasen't enough that C-Murder bit Pac's "When We Ride On Our Enemies", now the groupd with C-Murder in it, the most recent bite comes off Tru's latest album "Da Crime Family" , amazingly there are tracks that are biten off 2Pac! On disc two on track three there is a track entitled "hail mary" that ironically features c-murder & magic . On disc one there is a track that has a title similiar to Pac's Life Goes On, its track seven and its called "the tank goes on" and features tru, porsha, & o'dell.
In Pac Related Newz, Master P has recently done a public service announcement saying that we need to end "rap wars" and that rappers need to cut the violence out of their lyrics and stop the east/west fued. He also says that we have lost too many to these "rap wars" and you can tell he is referring to Pac and Biggie. The advertisement will be aired on MTV and BET. Also on all No Limit advertisements that usually appear in the popular hip-hop/r&b magazines there is a portion of the page that has the message in text signed officially by master P. I can't help but holla this out right quick, but master P has signed a one year deal with WCW to make select appearences and will supposivly be tag team partners with Dennis Rodman, He also has his own shoe comin out on Converse, the MP's
Dr.Dre's Chronic 2000 was renamed to Chronic II when Deathrow released its version of Chronic 2000, now Dre has renamed the album to Chronic 2001 "No Seeds" which i'm implyin is an indication that Dre thought Deathrow's Chronic 2000 had some seeds in it
4/10: On Nas's latest, entitled "i am" the Queen's Rapper brings up 2Pac frequently on tha album. Especially on track # 6, "We Will Survive", where he dedicates a whole verse to him. I don't know what to think of this, If its a dis or a praise, or that he is just kissin up to Pac's old fans cuz he wants them to buy his album. To see tha lyrics go here.
No Limit has biten another Unreleased 2Pac track, Kane & Abel were the last to bite with "Soldiers Story" where they stole the beat and the whole last verse. With C-Murder's latest it has gotten worse, this time C took the whole beat, almost identical lyrics, and didn't give Pac credit for tha song in tha booklet. I'll put it like this, THATS A BITCH MOVE!
2Pac's video off of the multi-platinum "Greatest Hits" album, "Changes" is still on MTV Jams. It was # 1 on Jams for about a month but its droppin, today it was # 4, its been on since January so y'all can tell that tha demand for 2Pac is still extremely high.
With the two releases of Chronic 2000, both by Dr.Dre, but one is more recent and will be released by Aftermath (Dre's new label) and Chronic 2000 will be released by Deathrow that will feature unreleased tracks with 2Pac, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and other former Deathrow artists. The Deathrow Chronic 2000 was one of the reasons Dre left Deathrow cuz he felt that Pac's hit California Luv should have been on C2000 rather than the 7x platinum "All Eyez On Me."
On YO RAPS and Rhythum vision they have debuted 2Pac's video in which it was actually produced by him and he's actually rappin to the song, "All About U" was debuted, you can vote for it on MTV's Total Request Live. With That I'm Out, PEACE!
1/30: In tha latest issue of the source there is a 5 page interview with DMX and the reporter asks him what he thinks of Pac and his life and DMX replies with one word, "martyr"
According to the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, E-40's soon to be released movie, "Charlie Hu$tle - The Blueprint of a Self Made Millionare" will have never before seen Pac footage so i am now lookin forward to see'n it
On MTV 2Pac's video, "Changes" has been as high as # 5 on Total Request Live ( a show where the viewers pick the videos to be played )and has been as high as # 1 on the MTV Jams Countdown. Also on MTV recently on TRL Brandy was on promoting her album and 4 Grammy nominations and Carson asked her what she though of Pac and she replied "Oh I Love 2Pac, Once I had the chance to meet him and I freaked out, its great that his music continues to live on even though he has passes away" Well dats all I got 4 now, PEACE - 31
