THE WEEKEND UPDATE

July 29 - 30

Well, I think we have just about everything we need to get this baby-girl started in life. I keep thinking I am forgetting something but I'm probably just being paranoid. The last piece to the puzzle will be the crib but we're going to wait and get that in October. Our condo looks like a Babies R Us superstore...hehe

Last week we bought a videocamera. So we'll have live footage of this little bugger after she makes her way into the world. Which means our families will get to see her "tiny little self." I still need to figure out how to work the videocam though. Dan has charged me with that mission for the week while he is gone. Maybe I'll get some "belly footage" to reminice upon as I embark on losing the 30lbs I've gained. Yeah 30 pounds isn't horrible but I'm sure it'll take some work to get it all firm again.

As for this weekend, Dan ran with the ambulance yesterday - he logged 23 hours in one day! So he now only has 50 hours of his 500 left to go! He has banged out almost all of those hours in one month. What a trooper. He has been busting his butt. He hasn't had many calls this week so even when he is done his next 50 hours he'll most likely still volunteer to keep up to pace. Today we ran around town getting things for his trip and he changed our oil in our cars. Not too thrilling. It was nice having him around for the day though.

Well that wraps it up. Oh, one more thing...my pal Jessica had her baby 2 weeks ago. Everyone welcome Riley Thomas Hussie into the world! He was 7 lbs 12 oz with a head of hair. I'm sure he is beautiful. Hoping picutures will make their way to me and if they do I'll throw them up on our page.

Take care all and if you have a sec, we'd LOVE to hear from you! I'm pretty darn lonely this week. - Beck and Dan

April 7-9

IT'S A......

First let me tell you that we found out the "flavor" of the baby it's a GIRL! Or so the doctor thinks. I'm paranoid about it coming out a boy. He was pretty certain but said "you know, there is a small percentage we can't see something" but he wrote GIRL on the ultrasound photo and Dan thinks it is too. So looks like the name game begins! For all of those that have so kindly asked what you can get for the baby we finally registered at I wasn't able to figure out what we needed until we went there. It is still a little confusing but at least we have a gameplan now. You can print up the registration list off of the site - easy, now I won't forget when I'm asked...whew! Thanks for asking! They have my due date wrong though, I need to call them about that. They're off by TWO months!

What a whirlwind of a weekend! Dan is around this week since it's his spring break and he spent Saturday working on a tandem bike he is building. He is welding two different bikes together so it will be a one of a kind! He also wants to build a rack for our Jeep so we can put our bikes and things on it. "Top down" weather is starting to come and I can't wait to go cruisin' with the top off. Later on Sat. he came up to Copper to help me with the Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest.

Yes, the 16th Annual Eenie Weenie Bikini Contest was on Saturday. What a wild time. I'll have photos soon. We had 2500 spectators, there were people everywhere! It made the front page today with a big picture of a gal in her "skivvies." It was so funny. I couldn't see every contestant because I was busy producing the event but the ones I saw were so hilarious. The last one was a lady named Sunny...Sunny was very experienced (i.e.. stripper-extrordonaire). She totally flashed the crowd her bare "enhanced" 34 DD's more than once. I thought- "oh great I'll get slapped with some type of lawsuit for this one." I was laughing so hard. There are male and female divisions and they go out in their little bikinis (the men usually have quite an act) and do a routine on their skis or snowboards to music. It turns into a big party. We even had to have four Sheriff here to keep the crowd in line....oh boy. People like to start throwing snowballs at the judges after a while.

So I was relieved and "pumped" when it was all over. I crashed watching Star Wars Episode I Sat night. Sunday, Dan was a sweetheart and went to Denver with me. I hate going alone, it's boring that way. Our first stop was to get Baxter a kennel for his flight to PA, then I got some t-shirts since my belly is growing(needed those), then we went to Circuit City and bought Dan a Motorola two way radio. I was given one at the Transworld Snowb. Convention in Dec and haven't been able to use it since you need a mate for it. So Dan was like a kid with a new toy. He's like "okay let's go to the post office, you go one way, I'll go the other" So we did and talked the whole time on the radios. It was so funny. He kept on asking me "what my 20" was. We'll have some fun with those for a while and they'll be super handy when we drive across country with them. The last stop was Babies R Us, Dan was very patient...he hates shopping.

Oops almost forgot...we are now Cost Co members. We signed up yesterday and left with a HUGE box of huggies (240 for only $31- thanks for the hot tip Viv!) and a big box of wipes. We weren't sure what size to get so Dan asked a nice lady next to us how old her baby was and what size did he take. Well he just now was growing out of the 1-2's and was only 3 months. She went on and on about how great they were and even had a sample! She'd make a great Huggies rep. That helped a ton. Also we were hungry going in to Cost Co an full going out. They give out all these free sampels of food...it's so funny! The place was huge. It'll come in handy.

I also found out some big news about my pal Jen this weekend. She's 13 weeks pregnant! Yeah! She already has a little girl Lyndsey so this is #2. I'm wishing her the best 6 more months to go! That makes the total girls I know that are pregnant this year...11 All those that aren't pregnant yet, you'd better watch out...the bug is biting!!!!

That's all for now, if you want to see the updated BABY AND MOM PAGE - pop on in here. That's where I update what going on with the little dudette and what I feel in there....we have movement! Take care everyone and please sign our guestbook if you have a sec. I wish I could call everybody but I've had a "talking-to" about the long distance...sorry. Viva la e-mail!

March 17-19

First let me take a minute to bragg about my currently grouchy, tired, but brilliant husband. He had a very difficult test last Tuesday but came through with flying colors. The test was almost 3 hours long and 9 out of 17 students have to go through 10 hours of tutoring and retake the test because they didn't do well. So the professors called each one in to give them a progress update and Dan was, let's say given a "gold star!" He is in the clear to go on with his ICU rotations and was told he is doing excellent in the class. I'm proud of him, can't you tell? NOw if he would just get over this grouchiness, I'm sure a good night's sleep will help that.

This past weekend was pretty mellow. We did have some house guests that kept us busy last week. Thursday Dan took off in the am to go riding with his pals that were visiting. Steve and Andy, Dan had a BLAST! Thanks for coming and taking his mind off of work and school. I'm glad you had a good time. I wish I could've gone snowboarding with you but I have to hang up my board for now. If anyone else wants to visit come on over! We'll have snow until the end of April and then the hiking is some of the best in the nation.

Speaking of hiking...Dan and I saw that the Appalachian Trail isn't far from where my Mom lives. So once we're back east, we definitely want to hike the Trail. I've heard it's awesome.

Anyway back to the weekend... Friday night we went out to dinner with DAn's pals. They crack me up. You wouldn't believe the energy these guys have. They went snowboarding from 8:30-4 on Thurs. and snowmobiling ALL day until 7pm on Friday. They were starving by the time we had dinner.

Dan had class both Saturday and Sunday. He was getting ACLS (advanced cardio life support) certified. Now he officially can 'zap' the life back into someone. He was glad to get that over with. I think Dan is starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, at least this tunnel. He still has a bit of schooling to go but he is getting more and more confident that he'll reach his goal as he goes along.

As for me I went for walks with Bax this weekend, bought a few more maternity clothes and ran errands. Can't say it was terribly exciting but it was relaxing.

I booked a flight today to go home for a visit and to bring Baxter home. I'll be there from April 26- May 1st so MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! I want to see everybody that I know back home when I get there. YOu'll all get a good chuckle with the size my belly by then!

Well, that's all for now. I've got to get off of this thing and get some stuff done. Please drop us a line when you have a sec. Take care!

Beck, Dan, baby and Bax.
