There is no such thing as a perfect baby sitter. Every baby sitter has his/her bad moments. Times when you wish that you could cut corners. Well here are a few tricks that are perfectly harmless as long as they are done right. Follow the directions, but look out for the catch! Remember, these are perfectly fine to do, just don't use them too often and only use them when you need to.
The Tricks
Early Bedtime: When you wish that the kids could just disappear, it's bedtime! Watch Out: Make sure that the kids can't tell time and that there are no bedtime landmarks (i.e. TV show is over, the clock goes off, it's completely dark outside, etc.) Also, make sure that the kid isn't on a strict sleeping schedual. For example, if they sleep ten hours each night and they go to bed at 8:00 instead of 9:00, then they will be up at 6:00 instead of 7:00 and the parents won't like that too much! Also, make sure that it isn't too early, that can really screw things up!
Creative Storytelling: When the kid wants just one more book and they pick out (of course) the longest book, then using the pictures, make up a short and sweet story. Watch out: Make sure that the kid can't read and that they haven't read the book a gazzilion times and know it by heart.
The Returning Baby Sitter: If you really like the kids and the family (And of course the pay) and you want to come back, then do this. Right before bedtime, thank the kid for being so good and tell them that you will bring a special reward next time you baby sit. Then the kids will tell the parents that they want you back, and wah-la, you have another job! Watch out: Make sure that you actually do bring
Calling Mom and Dad: When the kids are just too much to handle and you need to calm them down, who else can get them to listen to you but the parents? Here's the trick: You don't really call the parents. Call a friend or someone, and then pretend like you are talking to their parents. When you get off the phone, say to the kids
