So, you have to feed the kids a meal. Oh goody! Now you get to decide what to feed them! Believe me, chocolate ice cream is not a good meal, and it is not going to get asked back for another job. So consider the following when you feed them a meal: 1) Does the meal you are feeding them have all five food groups: Grains, fruit, vegetables, dairy, and meat? 2) Does the entire meal have all of these vitamins/minerals: Protein, Crabohydrates, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Calcium, and Iron? 3) Are all the foods you are feeding them overal healthy? (See the list below.) After you feed them their very healthy meal, clean up (Have the kids help you), give desert about an hour later (Don't overload them!), and then write a report to the parents about what you fed them. Parents like that so they know what they need to stock up on in case you may have finished the entire food, and also so that they know you have fed them nutritious foods. Then you have a better chance of being paid more and being asked back! Good luck!
The Steps in Making Nutritious Choices with Kids (Have the kids help you do this. Then they can learn healthy eating!)
1) First look at the nutrition label that your food has.
2) Now give your food one point if it has:
10% or more of Vitamin A
10% or more of Vitamin C
10% or more of Calcium
10% or more of Iron
10% (5 grams) or more of Protein
10% or more of Fiber
3) Now subtract one point if your food has either of these: (Only take away one point if it has both, take away no points if it has neither.)
200 or more calories
10% or more total fat
If your food has atleast one point, it is good for you. The more points the better it is for you.
If your food has negative or no points, it is not one bit good for you, if it is negative it is one of the worse foods you can eat!
