Squad 1

  • Notes: Squad 1 was released as part of Series 1 of the FDNY releases. There are 4 other trucks in this series. They include: E47,48,60,279. Squad 1 was organized in Harlem at Engine 59 in 1955. Moved to the Bronx to Ladder 58 in 1972, to Engine 45 in 1975 and disbanded in 1976. Squad 1 was re-established in Brooklyn at the former quarters of Engine 269. Squad 1 is now sold out from Code 3 and is valued at around $100.

  • Notes: Engine Company 9 was founded on September 29, 1865. The Company was originally located at 55 East Broadway in what would become the heart of New York City's bustling Chinatown community. Ladder Company 6, founded on September 26, 1865, was located three blocks away at 75 Canal Street, right in the shadow of the Manhattan Bridge. In 1969 the City of New York expanded the original quarters of Ladder 6 and placed both companies under the same roof. Engine 9 is part of the Maxi Water System (x Super Pumper System) and operates a 1994 Seagrave Pumper with a 2000 per minute pumping capacity, along with a 500 gallon water tank.   • Notes:Engine 42 was organized on January 1st, 1874 as Chemical Engine Company #2. Then on April 23rd, 1879 this company was reorganized as Engine 42. Their quarters are located at 1781 Monroe Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx. Engine 42 is currently sharing their two bay firehouse with Ladder 44 temporarily while their firehouse is being worked on. They operate a 1993 Seagrave Pumper, with a 1000 gallon per minute pumping capacity, along with a 500 gallon water tank. There are four officers (one Captain and four Lieutenants) who supervise twenty five firefighters that are assigned to Engine 42. Over the past few years Engine 42 has been one of the top five busiest engine companies in New York City.

  • Notes:Engine 45 was organized on January 1st, 1874 as Chemical Engine Company 3. Then on April 23rd, 1879 this company was reorganized as Engine 45. Their quarters are located at 925 East Tremont Avenue in the West Farms section of the Bronx. Engine 45 is housed by themselves, however on May 15th, 1974 a new firehouse was opened next door to accommodate Ladder 58 and Battalion 18. Engine 45, known as The Eagles, operates a 1993 Seagrave Pumper, with a 1000 gallon per minute pumping capacity, along with a 500 gallon water tank.

  • Notes:Engine 58 was organized on June 1st, 1893 in the Harlem section of Manhattan. They were a single engine company until November 8th, 1948, when they were moved into the quarters of Ladder 26. This union formed The Fire Factory. This year marks fifty years that the two companies have been together. Today, Engine 58 operates a 1993 Seagrave Pumper with a 1000 gallon per minute pumping capacity, along with a 500 gallon water tank. There are four officers (one Captain and four Lieutenants) who supervise twenty five firefighters that are assigned to Engine 58. The Fire Factory is located at 1367 Fifth Avenue and is still today one of the busiest firehouses in New York City.

  • Notes:Engine Company 88 was organized on November 15, 1908 and is located in the Bronx. This company is part of the 7th Division and 18th Battalion, it is quartered with Ladder 38.

    This model is the premiere issue of Code 3's "Diamond Plate" series of 1/32nd scale replicas. The model is over 11 inches long, and features a folding extension ladder.

  • Notes:Like other engine companies in the 200 series, the history of the company dates back to the days when Brooklyn had a separate fire department. The company recently celebrated its 100th Anniversary and the Engine carries that message on the cab front.. It is on Monroe St and shares quarters with Battalion 57.

  • Notes:Engine 277 was organized on March 20th, 1913 at 582 Knickerbocker Avenue in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. This one bay firehouse also houses Ladder 112. It's a tight fit but both companies manage. Known as the Wood City Workers, Engine 277 operates a 1993 Seagrave Pumper, with a 1000 gallon per minute pumping capacity, along with a 500 gallon water tank.

    Rescue 1

  • Notes:Rescue 1 was organized as the first rescue company in New York City on January 18th, 1915, and after intensive training to handle unusual conditions in firefighting. This elite unit was placed into service sharing the quarters of Engine 33 at 42 Great Jones Street, Manhattan on March 6th, 1915. Today, they are located in the former quarters of Engine 2 at 530 West 43rd Street.

    On January 23rd, 1985, one of the most spectacular fires to occur in New York City took place adjacent to Rescue 1’s quarters. This fire resulted in the collapse of the fire building into the quarters of Rescue 1. The end result was that their quarters was destroyed. On April 29th, 1989 a new firehouse on the same grounds opened. This firehouse was designed by the members of Rescue 1 and built specifically for a rescue company. The unique front apparatus door was saved and relocated to rear wall of the new firehouse. Anyone touring the neighborhood should make this a stop to see this firehouse.

    Rescue 1 is a 1996 HME/Saulsbury and is equipped with a mounted 32ft. telescoping light tower, a 15 KW Electrical generator and a ten ton winch and a A frame hoist. They also carry other specialized rescue and scuba equipment. Each member of Rescue 1 have spent hours of specialized training in Rescue Operations. Rescue 1 along with Rescue’s 2 and 5 are the Scuba rescue’s. They respond not only to working fires but also to any type of water rescue operation.

  • Notes:Rescue 3 was organized on June 1st, 1931 in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. They are now located in the Tremont section and they are quartered in the former firehouse of Engine 46 and Ladder 27. Rescue 3 is known as "Big Blue" and "The Building Collapse Unit." Rescue 3 is a 1996 HME/Saulsbury and responds on all 10-75's (working fires) in the 12th, 13th, and 16th Battalions of Manhattan and the entire Bronx. However if a major building collapse occurs at any time in New York City Rescue 3 responds with the Collapse Unit which is stored in the next bay of the firehouse.

    Rescue 3 is equipped with a mounted 32ft. telescoping light tower, a 15 KW Electrical generator, a ten ton winch and an A frame hoist. They also carry other specialized rescue and collapse equipment. There is also an inflatable boat stored in quarters. Each member of Rescue 3 have spent hours of specialized training in each borough of New York City and these elite units are trained and professional members of FDNY.

  • Notes: Rescue Company 5 is part of the 8th Division - 21st Battalion. Rescue 5 was originally organized on May 16th, 1948. It was disbanded on June 1, 1962. The company was then reorganized in August 20, 1984. They were disbanded on June 1st, 1962 and reorganized on August 20th, 1984. They are located in the Concord section of Staten Island. Their firehouse is located 1850 Clove Road and they share these quarters with Engine 160 and Tactical Support Unit #2. Rescue 5 is known as "Blue Thunder", operates a 1996 HME/Saulsbury and responds on all 10-75’s (working fires) in Staten Island and certain parts of Brooklyn. They are a Scuba trained unit and a backup Hazmat Support Unit. Rescue 5 is equipped with a mounted 32ft telescoping light tower, a 15 KW Electrical generator and a ten ton winch and an A frame hoist. They also carry other specialized Scuba and Hazmat equipment. There is also an inflatable boat stored in quarters.
