In the Heart of the Sangre
de Cristo Mountains
Crestone, Colorado
.
Coming to
Crestone is a unique experience. The Ute Indians called the San Luis
Valley the "Bloodless Valley" since they considered the land too sacred
for bloodshed. Shamans would often come to Crestone for study and
training.
Crestone has called people to its sacred grounds for centuries, for spiritual
renewal and expansion, as indicated by the many spiritual centers located
here, and for personal challenge, as evidenced by the several trails accessing
the 14,000 foot peaks of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. If
Crestone calls you --- stay with us.
The Silver
Star Bed & Breakfast, newly built, is located at the "top" of the Baca.
We are surrounded by the ancient pinions and aspens and are gifted with
a gently flowing stream on one side and a crystal clear creek on the other.
You can enjoy our expansive deck as you gaze over the valley while the
mountains look over your shoulders. The view is awe inspiring, as
we often say, "You can see Tibet from here!"
The mountain
splendor is easily accessed. Just walk out the door and within a
few moments you are on the main trail heads. Along the way, there
are several places by the creek for quiet, peaceful contemplation.
We often hear
guests comment on how quiet it is here and the million dollar view.
We call it, high altitude -- high attitude! And of course, being
so close to the Heavens, you'll want to do some evening stargazing.
Our guests have their own area with a private entry. Our non-smoking
rooms are spacious and comfortable. Each room is tastefully decorated
and represent in some way our extensive travel and love for beauty.
There is a
common room equipped with sink, refrigerator and microwave, as well as
a comfortable social, sitting area. It is easy to maintain your privacy
or socialize, as you would choose. We can accommodate up to 15 people.
The Silver
Star B & B is perfect for small group retreats, family gatherings,
wedding guests or simply, the private individual get-a-way.
