The Unmanifest

The Unmanifest The Doctrine of the Unmanifest
by Fr. William Price, Cardinal of the OTV

The Ultimate Divinity exists in two distinct segments. One being the physical universe, up to and including the Astral Plane. This segment represents forms, structures, and existence. The other segment is without shape, without form, and to all perceptions, does not exist. Yet, this segment is known to be, because of the Vestrian concept of the Ultimate Divinity, or Unmanifest. Unmanifest, because its form is all things and no-things at once. Even to refer to it as Unmanifest is to place a limit on its power, though no other terminology in our present vocabulary can offer a more suitable title.

Before time began, the Unmanifest was all. It was without size, shape, or duration. There was no time, space, form, or substance. Yet all these things were potential, and therefore have always existed within the Unmanifest.

At a single moment, when the Unmanifest concieved that it was alone, it created time, space, matter, energy, and form. This was the Creation of the physical segment of its existence. Since there was no manifestation of time before Creation, there is no way to determine how long the Unmanifest existed as a sole entity, or non-entity as it were. This creation did not change, influence, or affect at all the Unmanifest, it was simply a representation of its conception of self-division.

This was the origination of the concept of a balanced Universe. The Unmanifest, in all its Creations, instilled a basic idea of balance. When it existed as the sole Unitary in existence, it was balanced, there was no support and no opposition, though the concept of both were potential within the All. Upon Creation, the Order of the Physical, the Manifested, was balanced by the Chaos of the Uncreated, the Unmanifested. Even within the physical is a limitless number of balancing features, night to day, hot to cold, wet to dry.

The Order of the Temple Vestria believes that the Ultimate Divinity is, by its own nature, a balanced Entity. At the same time, his nature is one of unbalance, which by definition balances itself. Beyond this, belief, no other conclusions may be drawn about the Unmanifest, except that its true nature, or concept cannot be understood or concieved by imperfect minds. The goal of the OTV is to bring the concept of the Unimanifest closer to human comprehension.
