To become a ranger the first step is to complete the newbie guild. To do this advance:

fighting to 5
faith to 5
covert to 5
general to 5

Now you must 'leave' the newbie guild, and go to the Ranger guild. Once a ranger advance:

fighting.combat to 10
fighting.combat.melee to 15
fighting.combat.melee.sharp to 100
faith.spells to 10
faith.spells.offensive to 15
faith.spells.offensive.target to 100
faith.spells.def to 15
faith.spells.def.self to 100
faith.spells.misc to 15
faith.spells.misc.target to 100
faith.spells.offensive to 100
faith.spells.def to 100
faith.spells.misc to 100
faith.spells to 100
faith to 100
faith.points to 100
fighting.combat.melee.sharp to 300
fighting.combat.melee 300
fighting.combat.parry to 300
fighting.combat to 300
fighting to 300
fighting.points to 300
covert.hiding to 40
covert.stealth to 150
covert to 100
covert.hiding to 150
now fill in the rest.
