RESULTS FROM THE 2000 LIBERTY NOVEMBER TOURNAMENT |
The Liberty November Tournament
was held on 18 November 2000 at Liberty High School in
Colorado Springs. It was an 8 round double Swiss event,
i.e., each participant played White and Black against 4
different opponents chosen by Swiss System rules. The
time control was G/15, and there was both a quick rated
and a nonrated section. Larry Wutt organized the
tournament on behalf of Southern Colorado Chess. The
directors were Ken Schwartz and Roy Heath. Vladimir Kishinevsky scored a perfect 8.0 to win easily the $30 first prize in the 14 player quick rated section. Andrew Gibson tallied 5.0 points to capture the $14 U1200/Unr prize. In the 12 player nonrated section, Joe Bihlmeyer dominated the field, winning the $30 first prize with an unblemished 8.0 points.
