Results from the 1999 Liberty December Tournament

The Liberty December Tournament was held on 18 December 1999 at Liberty High School in Colorado Springs. Larry Wutt organized this event on behalf of the Liberty High School Chess Club and Southern Colorado Chess. The tournament included a quick rated section and a nonrated section. It was directed by Ken Schwartz and Roy Heath.

With a perfect 4.0 points, Keith Oxman won the $30 first prize in the 4SS G/29 quick rated section. William Bell, Joe Bihlmeyer, Buck Buchanan, and Victor Smith each scored 3.0 points to share the $15 second prize, while Dean Brown, Paul Grimm, Evgueni Ostashev, and Larry Wutt scored 2.0 points apiece to split the $15 U1600/Unr prize.

The nonrated section was played as a 4 person double round robin at G/20. Paul Wamble captured first place, winning $15 with a score of 5.0 out of 6.0.
