Shania Twain's Close Call

Shania Twain doesn't mind if lightning strikes her career
in the theoretical sense; the real thing is another matter.

The country/pop diva braved a close call during a concert in Syracuse, New York, Monday night when a lightning bolt struck just behind the stage where she was performing. "What was that?" Twain asked after the jolt. There were no injuries. Twain, who turns 33 Friday, attempted to continue with th New York State Fair show. But following more lightning and thunder, not to mention pouring rain, the singer called it a night about 70 minutes later. It was a rare blot on a breakout summer for the Canadian-born singer. Her top-five hit, "You're Still the One," has sealed her crossover stardom into the pop world.

please tell shania that she was very brave to weather the storm in syracuse and to let her know that syracuse was devistated by a storm labor day weekend still during the nys fair we all applaude her bravery performing during the storm that night and we all love her music very much!!!!

"I'm always excited when I win something,
not that I'll win anything at the Canadian
Country Music Awards, but just to be nominated,
of course, it's fun," said Twain in a recent
interview. "It always brings a smile to my face.
It's a nice perk and you appreciate it but even if
I win something I'm not going to get so over the top
about it. It's just -- you can't."
