The Taos Hum In-Depth Study (THIDS)

 

The purpose of this study is to discover the cause of the "Taos Hum" (TH), or at least to discover the conditions that allow it to become prevalant.

 

This study will be followed using the Scientific Method as much as possible. However, it will be started off with one assumption:

"All reported cases of the TH are not necessarily caused by the same mechanism."

Simply put, just because Jack hears a hum and Jill hears a hum, they may not necessarily be hearing the same hum. Jack's hum may be caused by flies hanging around him all day, and Jill's hum may be from an improperly tuned engine in her car.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

Here's what I've done. I've listed all the theories I've received SO FAR from the people on this list. I divided them into two kinds of causes: Natural (Cause not created on purpose BY MAN) and Man-Made (Cause created on purpose BY MAN). Not to say that the effect is on purpose. If anybody has any more theories, please send them to me at rrieke@pagosa.net.

Stresses on Earth's Plates
Sunspots
Schumann Resonance
Internal physiological processes, for example muscular processes.
Active imaginations
Some unusual form of tinitus
*Water flow in aquifers
*Vibrations in water pipes

Man-Made
Intentional use of Microwaves or some other EM source (for mood or mind control?)
Military Communications
Man-made antenna(s) broadcasting from somewhere.
Cellular phone network
Ground vibrations from central heating systems
