WHY?
Emergency Hot Shots was designed as a diversion for
Firefighters/EMT's by a Firefighter/EMT. With all the stress that
the emergency services seem to require, a little downtime is necessary
for everyone.
However, that's not the only reason to visit this site! I have
tried to provide everybody with a place to announce the latest
big news, whether it is a new marriage or a big fire. Every visitor
has a chance to win firefighter/EMT merchandise. Anybody with

Emergency Hot Shots Link of
the Month
The EHS Link of the Month is used to inform those in
the emergency services about special offers, ways they can help,
or just fun, interesting or exciting pages.
The guidelines for the ESH Link of the Month are as
follows:
- The page linked to can not contain pornography or anything
else that I deem to be inappropriate.
- The page will somehow be related to the emergency services,
whether seriously, in jest, or otherwise.
If you would like your site considered for the ESH Link
of the Month, all you have to do is e-mail the complete URL
to me at rrieke@pagosa.net. If your site is chosen, I will notify
by e-mail right away.
The EHS Link of the Month is ultimately chosen by me,
and will not follow a specific set of rules, just the general
guidelines above. All sites will be considered.
If more than one submission strikes my eye, there could possibly
be more than one EHS Link of the Month.

Emergency Hot Shots Game
You ask why there are games on EHS? It is my sincere belief
that the stress imposed upon emergency personnel needs to be counteracted.
Therefore, I have included a game for anybody to play.
You may also ask if I can put up a game that you've seen or
heard of. There are a few guidelines that I need to follow, so
here they are.
- The game will be clean, no porn or anything else.
- The game SHOULD contain an aspect related to the emergency
services, even if you have to think to find it (e.g. roving flames=fire
department).
- The game has to be fun.
- I need to have permission from the creator of the game to
link to it. I don't have time to deal with lawyers, so if it
could get me in trouble, the CYA rule comes first.
I will choose the EHS Game each month, and will try
to post a new game each month. If you have a game you want me
to put up, e-mail me the complete URL at rrieke@pagosa.net. If
the game you liked is chosen, I will notify you by e-mail right
away, and you could be given credit for referring EHS to it, if
you like.

Emergency Hot Shots Hot Sweeps
Due to the fact that I like making other emergency personnel
happy, I am going to give away emergency service items FOR FREE
each month in a sweepstakes format. The prizes will vary each
month as much as possible.
As usual, sweepstakes have legalities, so here goes:
- You must be 18 years of age to win.
- You do not have to be in the emergency services to win. However,
due to the fact that some of the prizes can be used as identification,
certain items can only be won by emergency services personnel.
Some examples are:
- Fire Department and EMS stickers for vehicles
- Patches
- License Plates and Attachments

- To qualify for this type of prize, department identification
OR a letter from a chief officer will be required before these
prizes will be awarded.

- There is nothing to fear if you aren't eligible for those
prizes, though. There will always be a prize for everybody.
- You are not required to live in or around Durango, Colorado.
Your prize will be mailed to you through normal mail procedures
if you are unable to pick up the prize.
- This sweepstakes is free.
- Only one entry will be accepted from each e-mail address
per week. Entering too often can and will disqualify you from
the sweepstakes for the month.
- I will give away at least one (1) prize each month. Occasionally,
I will give away more, up to three (3) per month.
- Your chances of winning are the same as everybody that enters.
If only one person enters, there is a 100% chance of winning,
however, if 100 people enter once each week, your chances are
approximately 1%. It all depends on how many people enter.
- Ed McMahon is not associated with Emergency Hot Shots
or anybody affiliated with EHS.
- I feel that junk mail and/or spam is annoying and needs to
be brought to a grinding halt. Therefore, I will NEVER turn over
e-mail addresses or other information gained through the EHS
Hot Sweeps unless it is required by law enforcement for some
reason.
- Your name will NOT be listed as a winner unless you give
permission. Additionally, your e-mail address will not be listed
unless you specifically request it.
