though, it seems war is gone,

for we are still here,

and our convictions are strong.

Please don't forget us,

when you lay down and pray,

remember us daily,

in the prayers that you say.

Please don't forget us,

or our families all alone,

who anxiously await,

our safe return home.

Please don't forget us,

or the reason we are here,

everything that we stand for,

love, honor and revere.

Please don't forget us,

as we won't forget you,

you are the reason we serve,

and lead the lives that we do.
