Downtown Melrose

The green rolling, wooded hills of Melrose came as a happy surprise. Must have looked a little like home to the Irish immigrants.

The town is sparsely inhabited. It had grown some until the early 1970's when it was inundated by floods two years in a row. That was pretty much the end of it's growth.
