The U.S. Military Spouses' Club
The place where a DS or a servicemember can feel at home

This site has grown beyond my wildest dreams. The 2 main "home" pages are very large and quite graphically intense. Please give them time to load. The other pages on this site are much smaller and will require less patience. Welcome and enjoy!

It is my sincerest hope that this website will eventually become a place of community, fellowship, and comfort for any person who knows what it means to share a life with The United States Marine Corps or any other branch of the US Military.

WOW! My thanks and smiles go out to all of you who participated in Round 13 of the Military Web Wars, and my special thanks go out to everyone who voted for The US Military Wives Club.

My name is Amy. I am 24 years old, and my husband of a little over 4 years, John, just returned home from MCRD San Diego. Most of you who visit this site frequently know that my husband came home several weeks ago with a broken foot and a broken heart. The next 6 months will tell us a lot about whether or not John will choose to re-enlist with the Corp. It is a decision that he is in no mental state to make just now.

In the months that John was away from me, I learned a lot about life and a lot about being alone. I learned that sometimes we don't get what we thought we wanted, and sometimes we get to see the finish line of a very long race but aren't allowed to cross it. But - you know what? We come out of adversity with more strength, courage, and confidence than we had going in...and what could be more valuable than that?

Our name has finally changed! After a lot of thought and a lot of suggestions from visitors, here, I decided to abandon the excluding "Wives" title. We have always welcomed military men and husbands, but-really...how many men are actually going to feel welcome at a site for wives? So...we changed the name. We really want your contributions, husbands.

The other new development in my life is that I have actually decided to go public with my decision to take the OOHRAH plunge. It's taken me a year to make the decision, but I am sure that this is the right thing for me to do. In April of 2000, I will leave for MCRD Parris Island to become one of the few and the proud. Pray for me. I'll need it. As always, I've written a small novella about my decision to join. You can read it under Amy's Pages or click on the link here.

So...come on in. Send us an email, give us any suggestions you have for features we should add to this site, check out some of the links, and let us know what you think.

Semper fideles et semper gratus,
Amy Lockyear

A special piece of my heart now belongs to all of the wonderful Marines who visited this site and took the time to give me advice/encouragement or to write OOHRAH letters to my husband.
Thank you...all of you.

I would like to say thank you to all of the talented people who have contributed to this site. My deepest gratitude also goes out to my family for their support, and to the women who have joined with me in the crusade to build the US Military Spouses'Club into an association made of friendship, faith, and honor.

" Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference to this world...
the Marines don't have that problem."
- President Ronald Reagan, 1985
