More RECENT news, I just got back from Fan Fair '99 at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim and I have to say, for my FIRST EVER time meeting my fave hockey team, it absolutely ROCKED! Even my friend whom I went with won a silent auction and got to skate one-on-one with TRAVIS GREEN!! WHOA! That was ULTRA COOL! But what was cooler was that I got to meet my FAVORITE ducks!! Well, other than Paul Kariya, which I didn't get to meet, but I was more happy that I got to meet the rest of the guys! But I MET SOME OF THE GUYS AND I TOTALLY LOVE EM! :) Well... er... a couple, a few guys could've been a least a bit more accommodating like, by being a bit um, more pleasant I guess, but generally, the MAJORITY of the players were REALLY cool! I totally LOVE Jason Marshall! He is the COOLEST AND NEATEST GUY! I even got to ask him something I've wanted to ask him for YEARS, which was, "Are you a natural blonde" and he didn't smack me or anything! :) He laughed and was like, "You know, I get asked that all the time!" :)!!! Then I got to take a pic with him and me, being the shameless person that I naturally am, I put my arm around him. It was awesome! Sonia is soo lucky! He's the nicest, really he is! I plan to scan in some pics soon, but I haven't decided which ones though. I have a few Fan Fair pics up though. Click here for pics of Fan Fair.
Alright, I just went to my VERY first Ducks' game on December 21, 1998 (Mighty Ducks' nightlight night, btw) and it KICKED ASS. It totally rocked and I was so glad to be there. Even though we got kinda cheapy seats, we still got a great view of the arena and stuff. Even though my boys lost 2-4, I still think they played damn well (well, up until the 3rd period, that is) and I even got to see like, about 4 scraps and stuff. It was cool. About 2 or 3 game misconducts during the game actually. We (me and Sal) had two Avs fans behind us and it was funny cause they just kept screaming out "Go Avs" as opposed to our "Go Ducks!" and it was just funny. It was a totally great experience and I am DEFINITELY going to another game... SOON. I also got great pics of the game with my ultra cool ZOOM camera but those won't be developed for a while.
Some of my fave Ducks, past and present...
click on each individual name to see pics of each player...
once you're done seeing the pics, click on "Back to the Ducks page" or else if you just click "Back" on your browser, the pics on this page won't work. Thanks!
Paul Kariya #9 (but of course)
Dave Karpa #33 (gotta love the pest! He's also doing great in Carolina!)
Darren Van Impe #29 (and he was supposed to be the premier Ducks defenseman! sniff... and he had the best "model" pose, huh Christine??)
Jason Marshall #23 (takes a beating and keeps on eating!)
Sean Pronger #10 (hey, after all, he's Chris's big bro!)
Teemu Selanne #8 (He's the Finnish Flash, come on!)
Peter LeBoutillier #52 (just love his last name!)
Guy Hebert #30 (gotta love Guy)
J.F. Jomphe #46 (had the best accent!)
Dmitri Mironov #15 (although his nose frightened me, the Tree was a great PowerPlay guy!)
Steve Rucchin #20 (Rucch!! Coolest M.D./centerman for the dynamic duo!)
Joe Sacco #14 (oh come on, he wasn't supposed to leave!! He had so much heart!)
Pavel Trnka #7 (one of the coolest rookies around)
Travis Green #39 (he's got the cutest little baby face.. and yes, I forgive him for kissing Ziggy Palffy)
Matt Cullen #11 (damn the boy is fine. damn the boy can play. have you seen the BEAUTIFUL goals he's scored so far this '98-'99 season?!?!)
Mike Crowley (alright, the kid is still in the system but I'm rootin' for him to come up from the farm team!)
In case you didn't know, i'll tell you now.. I LOVE the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. They were the first NHL team i ever liked and they still reign as my team, along with the St. Louis Blues (you can also check out my Chris Pronger tribute too) but the Ducks have a special place in my heart cause the first season I began watching them, they gave me so much to cheer about!
This pic of Paul and Teemu are... uh... a bit... uh... but it's still a nice pic! :) It just shows how close the two guys are, alright?!!
Karps, Selanne, Kariya, and Guy at CHOC Hospital in '96 (around there)
"Japanese Lightning" Paul Kariya was having a spectacular season next to his "Finnish Flash" linemate Teemu Selanne and all I could do was cheer like crazy! My mom went ballistic a few times cause I was just that loud...
I watched them do public services and I was just like, oh boy, these guys are really COOL!
Sean Pronger at a homeless center during Thanksgiving '97, how sweet
The Ducks just came off a horrible season with Page (to which i blame all this stuff on) and now they have Hartsburg, who I am actually somewhat happy with now. I see that the guy can definitely coach and they're winning more games now so the more wins I see, the more happy I'll be.
aww, see them patting my Paully on the helmet? This was from one of the games that the Ducks performed slightly awesome in from the '97-'98 season... it was hard to find a good game really...
but I'm sure they'll have a better season. BEAT THOSE QUEENS! er, KINGS! hehe.
