Welcome to the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club's Official homepage.

Thursday 22 March 2018: THE END IS HERE -

John W groomed this morning and 2 skiers reported a good fast ski. But the bare patches the sun is creating are getting too big. So we have to call a super ski season to a close. Have a great summer. See you next winter.

On Saturday 11th Feb we held a 5km classical race won convincingly by triathlete Alison Hooper. Participants had a lot of fun with races within the race.

The Club was delighted on 16th January when Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor came to Stoney Island and cut a ribbon opening our new Canada 150 trail under sunny skies. About 100 grade 7 and 8 students then set off to explore the new trail.

Kincardine Chamber of Commerce nominated the Stoney Island Conservation Area for its environmental award for the major work done to develop the trails that are "much cherished and enjoyed by the citizens of Kincardine".

The new flat Canada 150 ski trail is complete. A big thanks to the many Club members who have helped with this heavy work. In total, over 800 hours of volunteer work has been done to create this new trail.

The new trail is a flat loop of 1.25 kilometers designed for all trail users, but especially skiers - young and old - who wish to avoid hills.

Founded in December 1981 and incorporated as a Club in 1991, Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club provides enjoyable skiing and snowshoeing to residents of the area. We are literally a 5 minute drive from Kincardine. We maintain the trails at the Stoney Island property (owned by Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority) on a voluntary basis - contributing 300 to 400 volunteer hours most years.

And our trail fees and annual membership are the lowest in Ontario. Trail fees for one day are: individual $3 - a family $5. Annual Club Membership: individual $30 Ė a family $45. We work on an honour system: please put your payment in the locked metal box at the trail head. For annual membership, contact the treasurer, Karel Mika (see contact page). Application forms are at the trail head. At some of the high-end cross-country ski facilities you pay as much for a one day pass at weekends as our annual fee! Parking at Stoney Island is free.

We have collected a number of skis, poles and ski-boots which are kept in the Club hut which may be borrowed if you donít yet have your own equipment (but please return them neatly). Donations of ski boots are always welcome (we have lots of skis and poles).
