Welcome to the Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club's Official homepage.

Wednesday 21 October - We have had two amazingly good ski winters in succession. With wider trails, leveling, better drainage, graveling, and more separation of classical and skate skiers, the skiing should be even better this winter ... if we get the snow. The snow shoe trail system is now complete and is entirely on dry ground. Snow shoe use increased by 50% last winter, with a big turnout for our snowshoe event. According to the meteorological scientists at Environment Canada, one of the strongest El Nino events or record is underway in the Eastern Pacific, and they predict it will result in a very mild winter (groan - we just ordered a new snow groomer). BUT the much more reliable source for long-term weather prognostications - The Farmers Almanack (advised by Wiarton Willie) - says we will have a third hard winter!! Hurray. _______

Founded in December 1981, Kincardine Cross Country Ski Club is a small local club that provides enjoyable skiing and snowshoeing to residents of the area. We were incorporated as a club in 1991. We are literally a 5 minute drive from the town.

And our trail fees and annual membership are the lowest in Ontario. Trail fees for one day are: individual $3 - a family $5. Annual Club Membership: individual $30 Ė a family $45. We work on an honour system: please put your payment in the locked metal box at the trail head. For annual membership, contact the treasurer, Karel Mika (see contact page). Application forms are at the trail head. At some of the high-end cross-country ski facilities you pay as much for a one day pass at weekends as our annual fee! Parking at Stoney Island is free.

We have collected a number of skis, poles and ski-boots which are kept in the Club hut which may be borrowed if you donít yet have your own equipment (but please return neatly. Donations of ski boots and poles are always welcome (we have lots of skis).
