The stock market is rather directionless, moving from sector to sector as one or two companies report expected earnings... or even positive earnings. Now is a time to be cautious with your investments. Several stocks with excellent fundamentals and paying relatively high dividends might be good investments. Be careful to choose companies that you feel will not be too detrimentally affected by a year or so of recession. Russell Associates thinks the repercussions will be different in different market sectors. Some sectors will not recover for a LONG while. Be certain you do your homework. Hold only sound, solid companies. Mutual funds will continue to have a diffucult time! |
