Hommage à Kim Sinh

Wellknown throughout Vietnam with his stage name, Kim Sinh, blind musician and singer, is one of the best and most famous artists of traditional music in Vietnam.

Was born in 1930 in Hanoi, Vietnam, he had performed as a musician, singer and composer for many music groups in Vietnam until his retired in 1990. He had also been the teacher of the Hanoi Music school and many of his students have been the finest players in the country. His CD "Arts of Kim Sinh" was recorded and released by a Japan's recording company in 1993.

In 1996, Kim Sinh's first concert tour in the Japan's biggest cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Kobe... was very successfull. In 1997, he was invited to the United States and recorded another CD by a California-based recording company, Water Lily Acoustics Ltd.

Kim Sinh plays 10 kinds of Vietnamese traditional instruments as well as plays guitare and violin with the Vietnam's style. Kim Sinh is one of the first artists who were awarded the title "Vietnam's artist of merit" by the Vietnam State in 1983.
