Field of Glory Rules 3rd Edition

Requirements to play... You must be at least 13 years of age to join Field of Glory. If you are over the age of 40 and would like to play you must have a statement of health from your doctor ensuring that you are in good enough health to participate in combat. We reserve the right to deny the privilage of participating in battles if we feel that participating in Field of Glory Battles could be more hazardous than usual to your health. Also in order to participate in any Field of Glory activities you are required to wear midieval/fantasy garb. This is just common sense but YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE WEAPON THAT PASSES OUR SAFETY CHECK!!! You must also have money. there is an event fee here at Field of Glory, usualy $2.00-$4.00 depending on what it costs to rent the land, supply the refreshments, etc. YOU MUST ALSO HAVE A SIGNED COPY OF THE DISCLAIMER CONTAINED IN THIS HANDBOOK TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY FIELD OF GLORY ACTIVITY. We recomend you bring some "munchies" for when you are in the arθy. PLease use this disclaimer, NOT the Keep disclaimer. The Keep disclaimer is VOID in all Field of Glory events.

Costume The minimum costume requirements are as follows.
• A cloth tunic that extends to just above one's elbows and just above the knees and is belted at the waist.
• Home-made baggy drawstring pants that are drawn shut at the waist and at the ankles.
• Leather knee-high mocasine style boots.
• We also recomend wearing midieval jewelry, wearing pouch on your belt to keep your little 'valuables' in.
• You should have trimming on your tunic but that is up to you.
• No mundane clothing including shoes may be visible.
These are the absolute minimum requirements. We strongly encourage that you do as best you can to exceed these requirements. Another tunic idea is to have a longer sleeveless tunic that has large slits for sleeves over a sleeved tunic. Feel free to wear cloaks or even carry staves. Please note that you may NOT carry a real staff into battle, you must have a padded staff if you want to use one at all in battle. We also encourage midieval style accents if your have one that is believeable. NOTE: REMEMBER ALL THE SOURCES (Costuming, Weapon Building, accents, etc.) YOU NEED ARE ON OUR WEBSITE.

Combat Rules

We use Dagorhir Combat Rules, but be sure to look here on OUR rules page because we have made some changes to suit are games.

The Changes

1 you must follow all rules of 'Dagorhir' at all times while participating in 'Field of Glory' events except for those that have been changed to suit our playing needs. All changes to the rules can be found here on this page.

2 You are required to take a written test on the rules after your first three official battles.

Armor must be real! No cardboard platemail, cloth leather armor etc. Also, armor may not have any sharp, jagged, or pointy surfaces/edges.

Characterisation

You must also have an accepteable character. To generate a good charcter you might wan't to look into AD&D Handbooks (We use a 'Forgotten Realms like World). For example... Mr.X's character's name is Gwydion. Gwydion is an Elven Ranger, so Mr.X would go out and buy/borrow from a friend/etc. ,The Complete Book of Elves and 'The Complete Ranger's Hanbook' Since Gwydion is an elf he would wear earthtone colors. (brown, green, possibly black, possibly grey, white, etc. He would use weapons like swords, spears, bows, and staves. Some of our more 'experienced/serious players are creating entire family trees, family historys, and even life stories for their characters.

Note: You do not have to go out a pay lots of money on those costly books if you don't wan't to, just borrow one from somebody else, you don't realy need to use the books at all if you have a good knowledge of fantasy.
