"How do you know that my dimwitted inexperience isn't merely a subtle form of manipulation used to lower people's expectations thereby enhancing my ability to effectively maneuver within any given situation?" --- Dwight Riley |
DAVID ARQUETTE brings back the role of Dewey Riley, the former Sheriff's Deputy who sustained major injuries while battling the Woodsboro killers who murdered his sister Tatum (Rose McGowan). Although Dewey is now retired from the police, he comes to Sidney's rescue when trouble resumes.
In addition to SCREAM and SCREAM 2, Arquette has starred in a number of quirky noncommercial films. In 1996, he received critical praise for his portrayal of a male prostitute in "johns," which was in competition at the Sundance Film Festival. Arquette co-produced and starred in the independent hit "Dream with the Fishes," which was in competition at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival. In between the making of SCREAM and SCREAM 2, Arquette starred in the film "The Alarmist." Arquette's memorable television credits include the ABC miniseries "Dead Man's Walk," and Showtime's remake of "Roadracers." He also appeared in the feature films "Wild Bill," and Ted Demme's "Beautiful Girls," with Uma Thurman and Mira Sorvino. His next film role is in "Ravenous," due for release in 1998. Born on September 8, 1971, Arquette trained with his father Lewis (who also appears in SCREAM 2) at the Second City Theatre. When not acting, he performs with his band Ear 2000. Their song "The Race" is featured in the SCREAM 2 soundtrack.
