CROSSROADS — Audell Josephine (Umfleet) Ferguson of Crossroads passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Parkland Health Center at the age of 86 years. She was born on December 31, 1922 at Esther, daughter of the late Josephine (Pirtle) and Loyd Umfleet. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a son, Lloyd James Ferguson, a daughter Brenda (Ferguson) Sales, and a sister Kathleen Haney.

Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the Eastern Star and a long-time and faithful member of the Crossroads Church of God. Audell enjoyed fishing, sewing, cooking, canning, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.

On September 16, 1943 in Fredericktown, she married Theodore M. Ferguson her loving husband of 65 years, who survives. She is also survived by three sons, Floyd Ferguson and wife Loretta of Branson, Terry Ferguson and wife Terri of Fredericktown, and Steve Ferguson and wife Brenda also of Fredericktown, one daughter Carol (Ferguson) Wiles of Farmington, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters Freda Ragsdale and Katie Rion. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009. Visitation will resume on Friday at 7 a.m. with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the Cozean Chapel. Burial will be at the Pirtle Cemetery at Crossroads.
