The Colorado Avalanche...On The Road to Bring Lord Stanley Home!
Purchased in 1995 by Ascent Entertainment Group, Inc., the Colorado Avalanche brought home the Stanley Cup that same season, leading them to become the first team in Colorado history to win a professional championship. Besides winning the Cup, the Avalanche and it's players have captured other such trophies as the Clarance S. Campbell Bowl (Western Conference Champion), the Conn Smythe Trophy (playoff MVP), and the President's Trophy (best regular season record in the NHL). Along with winning all of these awards and being called a "bunch of marshmellows," the Avalanche's four year reign in Colorado has created several heated rivalries in the NHL, the most noted being that with the dreaded and hated Detroit Red Wings.

Just who exactly is the man (or woman) under that furry costumed abonimable snowman of a mascot that we Avs fans like to call "Howler"?! Your guesses are probably about as good as mine. Howler is listed as being 7 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds. Is it General Manager, Pierre Lacroix?! No, that couldn't be right. What about injured players? Do they take turns putting on the crazy concotion of a costume?! Better yet!! Is it a "special" fan that is chosen to entertain other fans at the game?? What are your ideas on this matter?? Email me with your craziest and most creative ideas and we'll crack the case as to WHO IS HOWLER!!!
A referee that just made the wrong call is!!! We've all seen them, read about them and even heard about them. What are they?! BAD REFS AND LINESMEN!!! Sure, the NHL provides it's teams with the highest quality of officiating (hahaha), but sometimes even the best of them misses a hit or two (or even the breaking of an arm in poor Valeri Kamensky's case)! But which one tends to miss those determental calls a little more often then the rest?! Look over the list of the NHL's proud and talented referees and linesmen, and then email me your #1 choice for referee and top 2 picks for linesmen and we'll see just who in the NHL needs a new prescription for glasses!
