PROPHECY GIRL
In this episode, a prophecy foretold that Buffy would fight Mr.Leather Clad I Am The Master and she would die. Her initial reaction was raw fear and panic, prompting her to attempt to quit. However she realized that it was her duty and after slugging Giles to stop him from going, she went to face the Master. Using massive mojo on her, he defeated and bit her. She fell into a pool of water and drowned; technically dying. It was the luck that Xander was able to revive her with CPR that brought her back. She then went to face the Master and this time she defeated him. However the fact the remained that she died...

After Buffy leaves the Prom early, Angel goes to see her and what he finds is a very not all right Slayer who is just beginning to deal with what happened to her.
Joyce Summers notices Buffy's odd behavior and is bothered by her daughters feverish nightmares. When she tries to help, Buffy pushes her away.
Buffy continues to fight the pain of what happened to her and even goes so far as to disband the Slayerettes. This of course sends the Scooby Gang into action. Giles reveals a bit of his past to help Buffy deal with her present and future.
