The reason I rated this at Kinda Hard is that it requires some delicate soldering techniques. If you are not proficient with a soldering iron I suggest finding someone who is. Aside from the soldering, this project is very straight forward and can be accomplished by anyone. Also: This will permanently alter your gun by making two small holes. If you remove your laser and place electrical tape over the holes it will effectively hide them. |

| First thing is first, strip down the laser pointer to it's
individual components. The pointer I used was a pocket variant, but a keychain
version will come apart just as easily. Be careful of the positive and negative
leads at the back of the laser unit, they are very thin and under allot
of strain may break. Place a piece of electrical or masking tape over the lens of the laser, this will protect it in later steps. If your particular pointer has a solderable button...keep it. The smaller the button the better. Once you have all the components in front of you and take a look inside the upper area of the XM177E2's battery case, the obvious conclusion of this project should be immediately apparent. If not, here is the rundown: |
