This site has run since August 24, 1997 as a non-profit corner of the Web targeted to offer you instant access to the world's news and events.

I started to build up the Walker's shell from nothing, knowing absolutely nothing about web technology, page layout principles and the "virtual community" but I did want to create something very special.

I read through a huge amount of theory books, surfed thousands of web sites and realised in the end that a lot of the work has already been done. Then I took a professionally made site as the template and started to study it step by step: How they did such and such a thing or why it is done.

Of course this process had some influence on the page design and layout. Any award for this page design belongs to my indirect teachers. The link to the page with a very similar layout can be found at my page.

NEWS Speaks for itself. Gives you instant access to the world's hot news. Knowing the news makes you understand the background about events in your local community. Information really is a great power.

SOURCES This is the best collection of the world's newspapers with their archives ready to serve you. If you are a professional journalist, you need to communicate with your colleagues. These are some of the links to help you.

WORLD I planned this place for original story pages. The stories are unwritten yet, sorry.

BRAIN POWER You need to remember or research an important item, but it has gone from your mind. No problem, Britannica helps. (Britannica is the one and only site Walker has made the link into that asks money for subscribing) Or go to the Library of Congress. The History Channel is just a reminder that we live not only inside the virtual world but in the real one, as well.

PEOPLE These are the most prominent people everyone needs to know. May be the content will be softened in the future, but not now.

TIME Reserved for the most effective time keeping systems, probably for the best watches.

SPEED Reserved for wheels.

TRAVEL Every journey needs to be planned. So here is the weather channel. Some more items will be included here in the future, may be.

HARD LIFE Man's income depends of one's education, qualifications and interests. If you find yourself out of work or need a better job, no problems, the U.S. Government funded project offers its job data bank for you to help in solving this problem. Do not hesitate to use it, it's free.

EASY LIFE Sweet Little Heartbreakers is the opposite link to the hard life. Young ladies show their beautiful bodies and treat them as goods. But no one will be forever young, there will come a time when they need to have some kind of qualification. Otherwise... good site for young ladies to think about and refreshing memories for older men.

The Amateur Paparazzi link serves as a reminder that we have enough people around here ready to share photographs about everyone's private life. The Paparazzi ideology is totally not acceptable to the professional journalist.

NO ENTRY That is as it's says. Just a service entrance for the Walker's staff.

Lonely Walker's logo is a Trade Mark. Why lonely walker? But, why not, it sounds good. At the same time this is my nickname at the Internet talker's sites. As the page's motto says: Lonely Walker explores passionlessly the world and shares worthy items with you.
