Sailormoon Update Monthly History

  Let's see . . . it all started with a little black cat, named Luna. Okay, there's more! SMU originally started as a joke, when a friend remarked that there was a lack of accurate Sailor Moon information. I created SMU, in the intent to prove him wrong. It was only intended for a joke, but when the word got out, many people came up to me, asking me for a copy, and encouraging me to do more . . . and the rest is, well, HISTORY! Know, with over 25 subscribers, from 3 different countries, SMU has become a regular monthly fan magazine, and I don't intend to quit just yet!!

There was a time, back in April/June, when the future looked black for SMU. There was no issue in April, and SMU went bi-monthly in June. It was then, I realized just how much my readers enjoyed SMU. With their support, I was able to pull SMU out of the pit, and since then, SMU is a regular monthly newsletter.

SMU is now in its 7th issue, and has covered many topics pertaining to Sailormoon. From the obscured story of Sailor Cosmos, to the creation of Crystal Tokyo. There are many features in SMU that make it totally original. Arty's L'il Japanese, or Artemis' Lessons in LUNA-tic Japanese, is a popular column, in which, hosted by Artemis himself, readers can learn a little Japanese, and the monthly vocabulary (of frequently-used words in SMU). Other columns include "Kollector's Korner," which features collectable SM merchandise, "Sailor Of the Month," which, of course, features a particular character in Sailormoon, and new to SMU, "Diana's Mailbox," which is a place for readers to voice their opinions and comments. Some columns, unfortunealy, have disappeared from the pages of SMU. The monthly polls, were canceled, mainly due to a lack of interest/response. "Quote of the Month" hasn't officially been cancelled, but it rarely appears, due to lack of space. SMU also has an annual "Special Edition," last year's (March '97) featured the one and only "Moon Kitties," as a special tribute to SMU's adorable mascots =^.^=
