Television Network of Georgia TNG - was created in September of 1995 by the directors of non-governmental TV stations in Georgia. TNG - includes the following non-governmental TV companies from across the Republic of Georgia: Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Batumi, Telavi, Zugdidi, Gori, Lanchkhuti, Bolnisi, Kareli, Ozurgeti, Samtredia, kaspi, and Zestaponi. TNG - is a charter member of the IBS International, an all-NIS company that secures copyrights of international TV serials, documentary films, and special programs. This programming is all licensed and sponsored by muli-national corporations. The IBS International is made up of networks from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Armenia. TNG - aims to support community development and democratic institutions via the following means: 1. The distribution of an alternative source of programming and information, separate and distinct from governmental agencies. 2. Offers citizens of Georgia the access to a free and independent TV media. 3. Offers an alternative source of cultural information not available via the state broadcasters. TNG - Encourages its member stations to abide by international copyright laws and a fixed schedule of programming.
