Love is Gone

Well I’m not quite sure just how to say,

But my love for you has gone astray.

To me you mean a lot just as a friend,

And without this bond my heart would not mend.

I hope to sooth any doubt that you may have,

About our relationship that’s in the past,

For I need a love that will last and I know

For this to be it will take two devoted hearts

Because life is like a puzzle with many parts

If we were closer life would not be so lonely

And I admit my faults of asking you too much

But let me say my intentions were for only

The little bit of time and dreams to clutch

Your love against my chest to hold you near

All I have to offer is my love sincere
