The Voice On The Subway - Reality Check
Sunday, 28 August 2005
This is a public-service announcement
I'm preaching to the mute. The silent. Those who can't talk, or WON'T talk. If you're reading this, then you have no excuse to surrender yourself so wholeheartedly to anyone else.

You're fucking sad-cases. Every one of you is trying so hard to fit in with someone else's twisted idea of normality, that you've broken your own damn necks.

Learn to exist.

Learn not to worry about pain, or embarrassment, or ANYONE.

Learn to worry about what YOU WANT. Fuck Geldof and the jargon and buzzwords he spouts by rote, guilt-tripping you into giving huge amounts of money, of which it has been proven he has taken a fairly hefty cut.

God bless the selfish. [[Make Poverty]] H/i/s/t/o/r/y

Yours distrustfully, The Voice

The nature of anarchy.
Anarchy - the dictionary describes it as:

"Anarchy -
1: Lack or absence of order
2: Disorder or confusion"

It's what punk has always aspired to, but never reached. The complete removal of the system that we have implemented upon ourselves.

Then maybe anarchy is what we need. At least its new. We have NEVER experienced anarchy. Not even a little bit, except in those fractured moments when a riot breaks out, when everyone loses all sense and inhibition, and lets out their fury.

God bless anarchy! Anarchy in the UK! In the USA! In EVERY NATION UNDER THE SUN!

The time is coming!
Manson predicted "Helter Skelter".

The nihilists predicted the Millennium Bug.

The ancients predicted armageddon on January 1st 1000.

But now the time has come.

The time is now.

Grasp it. Take hold of it. This is your last chance. This is it. This is the only opportunity for you to tell the world that you've had enough of being forced into conformity.

This is your time. This is now, this is when corporations and countries will crumble, and when the cult of the individual will finally be seen.

Get out. Get away from your monitors.

Go.

Go out and make your opinions, whatever they are, known to the world. Don't let anyone stop you living how you are, how you want to be. If you love someone, tell them. If you hate someone, tell them. But let those damn emotions out. Don't let them tear you apart, and don't let them keep you bottled up!

This is the Voice On The Subway. The voice of the underground. And this is your voice.

If you want something to be said, email me. It doesn't matter what it is. I want to say it.

Tell me what you want to say.

It doesn't matter if its a secret. Something you can never admit. I won't identify you. But I will let it out.

A bit like PostSecret.com- although much less touching. That site breaks my heart. So now it's time to break Theirs.

This is it, my friends.

Go out of your homes, into suburbia, into the cities of the world. Splash some paint around, scream something into the wind, stand in front of a policeman and take his cap: vandalism isn't pariah! Declaration isn't forbidden! The Man won't control us, won't keep us down! The cry for individuality isn't dead yet, and it can't die.

What They see as antisocial behaviour, what They see as dangerous music, dangerous clothing, dangerous culture, what They see as terrorism and vandalism, we see for what it really is: a cry for someone to NOTICE.

Well, I notice.

This is for all of you.

I'm on your side. I'm by your side.

The meek shall inherit... nothing at all.
The world shouldn't be like this.

The world shouldn't be led by fools. Politicians, monarchs, tyrants... whatever... they shouldn't be ruling our lives while those who are truly brilliant, those who could actually make a difference, those who could do something good rot away, unnoticed and unmourned.

That's all.

I want you to spread the word.
Hello again.

I posted my first piece about an hour ago. I intend to acheive cult status. But I need your help.

Please.

There, I said that horrible little word.

I want you, when you read this, to try and get others to read it. I want to use word-of-mouth (-keyboard?) to try and get my views out. I want people to realise that the future doesn't lie in politicians, or statesmen. It lies in the hands of the bloggers!

In OUR hands!

Go forth, tell the world. Tell me. Tell everyone.

And thank you.

The Big Red Button

Hello, and welcome to the first of many rants. I wonder how many of you will read this. But anyway... this is my objection to the world as we know it.

It's 2005. Five years into the 21st century, and still we're all as fucked as we ever were. God bless us, when we take an arsenal of 7,500 thermonuclear weapons, linked to a big red button, and give it to a money-crazed Texan oil baron, along with a GDP of around 11.75 trillion dollars. God almighty, y'all... what the hell did you expect good ol' George to do? You know the American thing for never leaving a task unfinished (unless it requires effort...), so of course George Jr. was going to go and finish what his dad started: destroy terrorism in the Middle-East - particularly Iraq. And if America "inherits" Iraq's oil reserves, well, that's just fine and dandy. The fact that the US military actions have exarcerbated the region's already numerous problems is, of course, something that Bush would rush to cover up, but you can't hide it from the intrepid frontiersman of t'Internet. Fuck you, Bush!

And let's not even start on Bush's other, rather numerous cock-up. The USA PATRIOT act, for example. Now there is a "liberal" interpretation of the US Constitution, which the Americans seem to value so highly. The fact that Bush's lapdog, Mr. Blair, seems to be edging towards a comparable piece of legislation in the form of the Terrorism Act in the UK is also a cause for concern. But hey, where George goes, Tony follows.

You ever wonder why Great Britain still has troops sitting around Germany? Well, it ain't because of any security threat. Or, as some civil servants would claim, because there is no accommodation for the 25,000 British military personnel currently based in Germany. It's because, if Britain pulls out of Germany, then guess which is the only NATO country with troops still based on foreign soil?

Yup, dear reader, you guessed it. The United States of America.

Next up today - the Constitution of the United States. Your kids learn it as the basic doctrine of all democracy, yet you still allow convicted murderers to escape on technicalities drawn from blatant loopholes (*cough* "I plead the Fifth Amendment, your honour."), and you still manipulate it to suit some fascist President's whim. It's hypocrisy. America isn't a free country. America is not democratic. Your idea of democracy, my dear American friends, is rather twisted. When you have people wanting to suppress even the music you listen to, when you have your armed forces personnel abusing prisoners on foreign soil, and when you find yourself the most-hated nation in the world, that's not democracy.

America is a corrupt nation. America betrays nine out of ten of democracy's founding principles. Just because you say it, just because you claim to believe it, just because you look at a flag and utter the same words in school every morning... this doesn't make you democratic. America is a country full of bigotry, uneducated about anything outside of your city limits, and scared to the point of prejudice of anything that opposes your way of life. Communism, for example.

Democracy is dead, my friends. Give it up.

Named and shamed today - George Walker Bush, Jr. - terrorist, imperialist, capitalist... we, the people, hate you.

Sincerely, The Voice
