In the last scene ((done by 'Unknown'))
The scene opens on Markus, walking the hallways of the SWF Arena, a baseball bat in his hand, and a lot on his mind apparently. He walks into the men's bathroom. Markus looks at the mirror and stares at his image for a second as he puts the baseball bat down beside the sink. He makes a few steps to his right and goes to take a piss.
A few seconds later, he comes back, zipping his pants up. As he gets to grab the baseball bat, it ain't there anymore... His eyes widen up a little, knowing that something is wrong AND about to happen. He let's out a small " crap." and the lights go out.
For a good two to three minutes, we hear strong and low thuds as if someone was boxing with a huge piece of meat... with a sledgehammer. All comes to a stop as we hear a piece of hard wood falling to the ceramic floor and bouncing... then another second of silence... and a thunderous thud...
Merely whispers and moanings can be heard... something moving against a wet surface...
The lights come back on, as we see Markus, laying on the ground in a pool of blood, probably his own judging from the wounds to his face. Markus is holding his ribcage, laying in a fetal position, the baseball bat a few inches from his legs, his lips barely moving...The camera pans up a little to show the wall behind Markus. Letters written in blood read "Victims, Aren't we all?". As the camera comes back to Markus and the image is slowly fading to black, we can hear him whispering in pain : " heee...." *coughs* "heeelll...help"...
Back to reality ((done by TKO))
((The following night SWF is live in its next city. The show is being taped. Following a match between two local kids trying to get their start in the big time they go to commercial break. Upon returning the two commentators go over what happened last night, pausing to speak about the attack on Markus Katastrophik...))
-- Sombrero --
Welcome back folks, let us take a minute right now and apologize for the graphic
nature of last night's events. We were under no way aware of what was going to
transpire. What happened last night to Markus Katastrophik was sick and twisted
beyond belief. While we aren't sure exactly who was the one that perpetrated the
act, we have our ideas.
-- Kaiser --
Sombrero, now lets be fair. We can't go around accusing people who have not been
proven guilty! Remember our country's motto, 'innocent until proven guilty'.
Knowing you, you're going to point the finger at Manik right off the bat, excuse
the pun.
-- Sombrero --
Well why the hell not? Look at the past month! Markus and Manik have been at
each other's throats. Manik tried to destroy Markus once and for all at Quest
for Gold. And before that even, the barbed wire steel cage match... this has
been one drawn out bloodbath. And if you ask me, Manik just took what could be
the fatal blow in this, what has become arguably the most heated feud in the SWF
today!
-- Kaiser --
Come on, he didn't do it. There are many people who would want Markus out. With
him out, then the contendership is up for grabs! Anyone can go after Manik! Not
like it'll do any good.
-- Sombrero --
You are a real piece of work Kaiser. A man lies in a hospital tonight, and you
defend the most likely suspect! Unbelievable. Well, in any event, we are told
that on special assignment, we have Sammy Williams at Saint Bartholomew's
Hospital to update us on the condition and the damage of Markus Katastrophik.
((The video feed goes to a long white hallway, as the camera moves along, passing by rushed medical physicians. A woman sits at a receptionist table, taking calls as they come in one-by-one. One doctor on staff stops the cameraman briefly, asking his business, before letting him pass. Finally, after what seems like a long walk, the camera turns to a door marked '207', and pushes through. Upon entering, the camera spots a number of machines hooked up to the battered superstar, as he lays unconscious in his hospital bed. Along side him are two women, one dressed in scrubs, an attending nurse, as she injects into his tube a clear liquid, likely a pain-killing sedative.
The woman to his right however, sits in the chair, dressed in civilian clothes, one particular item of clothing being a very familiar black hooded sweatshirt, that seemed to be ridiculously too big for her petite frame, considering its size on the fallen man who lay motionless beside her. She looks up at the cameraman, and Sammy Williams, standing beside him, and shakes her head, her face soaked with fresh tears. Her hand caresses Markus' as Sammy Williams approaches carefully, wanting to speak to her, without being insensitive.
Sammy pauses as Markus' physician steps into the room, oddly dressed however. He seems rather unkempt, unshaven at least, and he isn't wearing his lab coat, as nearly every doctor is required to. He walks up to Markus with a slight limp, and checks the vitals on the machines, before turning his attention oddly towards the cameras, a curiosity creeping across his face as Sammy now goes to him instead.))
-- Sammy Williams --
Excuse me, you are the doctor taking care of Markus, right?
|| Doctor ||
Oh shucks, I forgot to take the nametag off. No, I'm not, I just come walking
into the hospital and play around with patients out of boredom. Yes, I am the
physician assigned.
((Sammy seems taken back by the brashness of the doctor, but continues with his questioning.))
-- Sammy Williams --
Well can you shed a little light in on the condition of Markus Katastrophik?
|| Doctor ||
Can't you see yourself, Markus has a big boo boo. Someone hit him in the head
and now he has one of those... oh what are they called... oh... darn it... this
is the one I missed on the 'become a doctor' test. Look, if this is really what
you have to ask me, I have much better things to do, General Hospital is on in
five minutes. Plainly and simply, Markus is suffering from a concussion,
multiple lacerations --or to dumb it down for ya-- cuts and scrapes, and
multiple bruised ribs. His life isn't in danger, but its sure gonna hurt when he
wakes up and we take him off the pain-go-bye-bye juice!
((The strange doctor hobbles out of the room as Sammy turns his attention towards the woman sitting beside Markus. He looks down at her and shakes her free from her trance-like state. She looks up at him as though to say 'what more do you want?', but says not a word, just looks back down. Sammy kneels beside her and begins to speak.))
-- Sammy Williams --
Excuse me miss... I know that this is obviously a difficult time for you right
now, but if you can take a moment I would REALLY appreciate it. Of course if you
aren't able to do it right now, I will also understand. I mean no disrespect at
all.
((The woman looks down at Sammy slightly surprised at the care he seems to have, rather than the usual in your face attitude most people show in attempt to interview. She wipes the tears from her eyes and quietly clears her throat before shifting herself in the chair, turning towards Sammy to give him her attention, or what attention she still has to give.))
-- Sammy Williams --
Thank you, I'll try to make this as quick as possible. How is he doing?
.:: Woman ::.
He was brought in here last night just immediately. They said that we were lucky
that he didn't hemorrhage. I guess the shots that he took were so devastating
that it risked blood vessels popping. Much more, or much harder and he could've
died. That is just what they tell me. I don't know anything about this medical
stuff. If Markus was conscious he could tell you all of this like he was a
doctor himself, but I don't know any of it.
-- Sammy Williams --
Is there any time table for his release?
.:: Woman ::.
I am not sure really. They are going to keep him here for at least another few
days to monitor his condition, make sure still that nothing goes wrong in the
healing process. Usually they say that a concussion is easily treatable, and
they'd just tell the person to stay away from much movement until they get
better. But with Markus, because of what he does, and his past history with
injury and everything, they want to keep him here longer. Right now I don't know
when they're going to let him go home. But when he wakes up, I know that he
isn't going to want to stay long.
-- Sammy Williams --
I wouldn't expect it either from Markus, or anybody. Have you spoken to him at
all since his attack? Has he said anything to you?
.:: Woman ::.
He has mumbled a few words, nothing very clear or anything. He just told me that
he loved me, and then that one other thing...
-- Sammy Williams --
Mind if I ask what that was?
.:: Woman ::.
...David...Manik...Manik...David. He wasn't very clear with it, but I know that
much of what he said. Everything else was so jumbled together and under his
breathe, I dont know what all it was.
-- Sammy Williams --
I know there is a lot of question and speculation as to who did this. Do you
think that Manik could have possibly been the one behind this? Does
your...err...boyfriend...err...husband believe that is who did this?
.:: Woman ::.
Boyfriend, and there is not a doubt in either of our minds. ((The woman
reaches beside her and grabs the blood-stained baseball bat left on the chest of
Markus after the attack and holds it in her hands, before placing it at Markus'
bedside.)) There is no question of who did this. And it is
obvious of his intentions. He didn't want to play games, or just hurt Markus, he
wanted to KILL him.
-- Sammy Williams --
It certainly looks like they wanted to end his wrestling career at le--
.:: Woman ::.
((Cutting Sammy off in the middle of his sentence, knowing where he was going
with it)) No, he didn't want to end his career. I don't know a whole lot about
your sport, other then what Markus tells me, but if you want to end someone's
career, you take out a knee, you break an arm, you DON'T go for
the head and try to cause him brain damage! You don't do something like this,
unless your heart is nothing but hatred, and you have mean intentions! He
didn't want to end Markus' career, he wanted to end Markus...PERIOD!
-- Sammy Williams --
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... Well anyways, I don't think I have any more
questions for you so unless you have anything else to say, I'll leave you two
alone, miss.
((Sammy looks to start getting up from the kneeling position, as the woman opens her mouth, her eyes filling with fierce tears. Her lips tremble and her hair falls in front of one eye.))
.:: Woman ::.
It's Alexis, and make sure that Dave gets this message... I don't care what this
is all about. All I know is that my boyfriend is laying here right now. And I
know him well enough to know that he will be at the Pay Per View and his shot at
Manik, hundred percent or not. Markus wont have it any other way. So take that
back to David and Mr. Calhoun... your match is still on. And when Markus
returns, whether it is before then, or that night, I will be there with him to
watch as he eats Manik alive!
-- Sammy
Williams --
Thank you ma'am for taking the time, I understand the times you must be going
through, so to take the time out, I really appreciate it.
((The image fades with Alexis by Markus' side, holding onto his hand as the bat lay beside him, symbolically perhaps. Back at the SWF Arena however, the two commentators have differing opinions on the sequence of events.))
-- Kaiser --
Not smart. Not smart at all! Markus is better off staying away. Or whoever did
that to him, might actually finish the job next time.
-- Sombrero --
Whoever did it? Come on Kaiser, we all know who did it, there really is no
fooling anyone. Proven or not, we all know who is to blame for this heinous
attack! It is Manik, plain and simple. And to be honest, I can't wait till
Markus comes back at Bloody Revenge and not only takes out his revenge, but
takes the World Title back!
-- Kaiser --
Don't count your chickens before they hatch Sombrero! He's got to heal up, and
his girlfriend said it herself, even if he isn't 100 percent, he will still
compete. And we have seen what Manik has done to those who don't come with their
best. Can you say Kharn? Scarface? Sean Hardy? Nemesis even... he has dismantled
them all. What makes you think that if Markus Katastrophik comes back at less
than his best, that he can avoid the same fate that came to those other
superstars?
-- Sombrero --
I hate to say it, but you DO have a point. Markus better come back with his
'A-game', or else he could be falling right into his own early grave. Never the
less... I can't wait to see him come back! But for now, we will just keep you
updated on his status as it changes. When we come back, more SWF action!
