- Abit
TH7II is a great mother board which supports with socket 478
processor and Rambus memory.
- Two
problems with this. 1. Rambus memory is out dated to be replaced by DDR
memory and 2. Front bus access is 400 mhz and does not include 533 mhz. So
Basically this board is out of reconning because
of these two reasons.
- Price
for ABit TH7II is $167 at square
- The
difference between a 2.4 pentium 4 for 400 mhz
and 2.4 ghz Pentium 4 for 533 mhz front end bus. The 2.4 pentium 4 for 400
mhz front end bus is called A and the 2.4 pentium
4 for 533 mhz is called B.
- ABIT---IT7—This MOBO does
not support any legacy systems ps2 connectors for key boards etc not
serial or parallel ports for printers.
- It has
USB2.0 and FIREWIRE 1394a respectively
- It has
the First mobo with intel I845E chipset . This
officially support for 533 FSB(133 FSB QDR) for
upcoming northwood B P4s.
- The
south bridge I/O controller hub is ICH4 which provides connection for 6
USB2.0 Other features are ATA100 support
integrated LAN interface, AC97 audio and modem capabilities. Most feature
laden MOBO to date.
- THE
SPECS : P4
supports upto 2400 MHZ and more, Memory –2GB RAM DDR200 RAM.
AGP slot and 4X32 Bit PCI 33 mhz slots. The socket has an etching to take the largest
coolers. Alpha PAL 8942 T. RAID 0,1 and 0+1 gives
great ide management and flexibility. Has full duplex AC’97
- Great
Stability on test benches.
MOBOs with 845 chipset for DDR
- The
850 chipset can from Intel requires RDRAM which is expensive and also on
the way out.
- The
845 E and 845 G are the only
chipsets that support DDR and also 400 mhz and 533 Fsb’s
- At the
least a mobo should support PC2100 DDR Memory.
