'Grown up' photo of Dan, Emma and Rupert in Vanity Fair
From
Hello!:

With the passing of Emma Watson's April birthday – the young actress turned 13 – all three of the stars who appeared on the scene in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, including Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, are officially teenagers. And now, the blossoming trio are featured striking a grown-up pose in the upcoming It's Totally Raining Teens issue of Vanity Fair.

While Daniel, Emma and Rupert are currently filming Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban, it's as yet unknown how producers will handle their adolescent growth spurts. Star Daniel, who plays the title character, has shot up eight inches since he appeared in the first instalment in 2001.

Here is a low-res scan of the picture as it appeared in the Evening Standard. Thanks to Potterish for the scan and Kelly for the tip!

MuggleNet in Oak Park, lllinois!
Eric from MuggleNet Staff, Galadriel Waters and Professor Astre Mithrander, authors of "
The Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter" who we've recently had our Q&A chat with, are going to be in Oak Park for June 21st! Emerson and Jamie will be in London hosting the party over there, and those of you here in the Chicago area can enjoy it with us!

Oak Park is right outside of Chicago, where the stream of stores will be turned into Diagon Alley! MuggleNet and WWP (Galadriel and Astre) will be there, and we've all decided to extend the area, forming another place for our events that we like to call Mystic Alley. Both areas will be completely open to everyone from 9pm to midnight.

Games will include costume contests, expert Q&A, Wand Dueling, a real life Hagrid for everyone to meet, and even life-size Wizard Chess! Cash prizes and t-shirts will be given out to all who participate or win.

Also, later on the 21st, the three of us will be attending some local shops for more fun and games too! So hurry up and see if you can celebrate with us, we'll be more than delighted to enjoy this special occasion with you!

JKR's Royal Albert Hall appearance to be webcast live!
From the
AP article:

Questions about quidditch? Pondering on the phoenix? Answers will be provided when J.K. Rowling reads from the next Harry Potter adventure at the Royal Albert Hall on June 26, and does a live interview about the book that will be broadcast simultaneously on the Internet, organizers said Tuesday.

British Telecom is sponsoring the webcast and Microsoft is hosting the online event at http://www.msn.co.uk/harrypotter. The Web cast, which is free, begins at noon EDT. Microsoft said it has the potential to reach children in 34 countries in 18 different languages.

Before the event, children are invited to submit their questions about Harry to the Web site. Fry will put the best questions to J.K. Rowling live on the night. A number of questions will also be taken live from the Internet during the webcast and fed through to the author during the event.

JK Rowling interview!
JK Rowling has done an interview with Jeremy Paxman in a UK broadcast for the
BBC which will air on June 19th:

Rowling tells Paxman about Order of the Phoenix, gives him a taster from the new book, and provides an insight into the inspiration behind the novels. Paxman said: "She talks honestly about her fame, her wealth and the time she even considered breaking her arm to avoid the pressures of writing. As well as dropping some clues about what will happen in the Order of the Phoenix, she raises intriguing new possibilities about Harry's longer term future. We've been trying for 18 months to get an interview with JK Rowling - I think it was worth the wait."

I'll be in London on the 19th, so I'll be able to watch (and record!) it. Thanks to Baggins for the heads-up.

John Williams scoring PoA and possibly GoF
Boston Globe:

John Williams has signed on to write the score for the next Harry Potter film. Williams supervised the music for the first two movies, but for ''Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'' he's actually writing it. (If all goes well, he'll do the score for ''Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,'' the fourth film based on J.K. Rowling's novels.)

Rain and flies set filming back in Glencoe
CBBC Newsround:

It's looking likely the next Harry Potter flicks won't be filmed in the Scottish Highlands because of the weather and midges. The rain's been so bad, shooting of the Prisoner of Azkaban in Glencoe is at least two weeks behind schedule, says the Express newspaper.

Interesting OotP cover observation
On
Scholastic's book 5 page (the one with the spoiler-ridden summary; click here to just see the image), they have a picture of the cover, and we can see part of Harry's face on the back flap. It's the same face that's on the cover, strangely.

But then, if you look at the same sliver of the back flap on the Scholastic online store, Harry's face is gone and it's just a simple blue/gray swirl.

Thanks to iHP for the tip.

E-mail Account
Hey everyone! I'm a new staff member at Mugglenet! Not really new... I've been here for a few weeks... Anyway, my e-mail account has been stuffed up with TONS of awesome wallpapers, but that's kind of the problem. At some points, when I'm away at school possibly, you might not be able to send me an e-mail due to the size. I'm trying my best to keep it down, so if you can't one day, try sending it a few hours later.

Also, if you could, please send all wallpapers to my address! I'll be changing the e-mail on all of the wallpaper pages soon, but until then just take heed of this! It's very difficult for Emerson to send me the wallpapers that he receives.

Emma Watson in 'teen booze scandal' (cough)
Here is a great example of something little blown out of proportion by the press: Emma Watson was seen at a party where some underaged children were served alchohol. Here's part of the article as it appeared in the
Oxford Herald:

The party had been arranged by the Hadley's to celebrate their daughters 13th birthday. At some point during the evening someone added alcohol to several bottles of Tango. Speaking from his home earlier this week, Mr Hadley expressed deep regret at what had happened.

A spokesman for Leverton Studios was quick to play down the incident, and claimed that Emma was unlikely to be one of the children involved. He concluded, "This was simply a teenage prank that went wrong."

"Teen booze scandal" eh? Some scandal. You'd think we read this in a tabloid. Excuse me while I shake my head and roll my eyes.

Thanks to sugarIZgr8 for the link.

Waterstone's training wizards for the book 5 release
CBBC Newsround:

Waterstone's the book shops are training up loads of actors to play wizards, to keep you amused as you queue up for your copy of Potter book five. They'll be on hand to show off their tricks and magic while fans wait to get their hands on the Order of the Phoenix.

For those of you waiting for news on the London party: don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you! We're still working out the details, and we'll post them as soon as we have them. We also have some great news for those of you who plan to attend "Diagon Alley" in Oak Park, IL. But I won't say any more here.
