                                                                  BUCKET RACING

The generic term 'bucket' is used to described a class of small capacity racing motorcycles, which are usually based on street machines.  Some machines which are eligible to race in Motorcycling Australia Historic classes, are also eligible to race in 'bucket' classes.

Bucket racers are classified into three groups - Motolites, Superlites, and Commuterlites.  These may be two stroke or four stroke machines, and race classes are adjusted so that the two types of machine are competitve one against the other, by restricting capacities.

The most beautiful 125cc machine ever manufactured was the MV Agusta Bialbero.  For small four stroke motorcycle enthusiasts it is the ultimate desirable machine . The reality is that most of us must settle for less!
