About Us
Childers
Country Line Dancers have been dancing since 1995, we have 2 original members
left, and our other members have gone to where all old line dancers’ go-life
and its many roads, side tracks and paths. Our current members range in age
from 8 to 80.
I
sometimes wonder what life will be like after line dancing, I hope it’s a
loooooooooong time before I have to experience no dancing in my life.
My
name is Lorrae Oliver and I am the Instructor, President, Secretary & Jill
of all trades of CCLD, I am assisted by Ruth Baker, who is an excellent
offsider- steps up to the mark when needed-“Jill of all trades II”.
I
have been teaching for around 3 years, like many teachers stumbled into the
job, I wanted to get more people involved with dancing & our club. CCLD
instructor at the time,
Raylene Berrel was a bit hesitant in going back to teaching
beginners again; I volunteered and before long I wanted to try my hand at some
of the harder dances well the rest is history.
Raylene finished in 2007 to go to life after dancing and falling
into running the club since the start.
