Elephants
African elephants live on grassy plains in Africa. They are the biggest animals that walk around on earth. African elephants have very big ears. It gets very hot in Africa and the elephant uses its ears to keep cool. Having big ears helps the elephant live in such a hot place. Elephants eat a lot of food. They eat about 300 pounds of food in one day. They don't eat food like people do though, they eat grass, bark (the outside of the tree trunk) and roots. They are herbivores. That means they don't eat meat. Elephants can live for about 70 years.
