United-Movies started out after most of the SOPS from Newest-Movies on dalnet left the channel (newest-movies) due to a conflict of interest. Most of us (SOPS) have been running IRC channel(s) for many years.

At United-Movies our main mission is to provide the very best movies to our users while maintaining a friendly hospitable environment for peace and relaxation. While movies are very important to us, friendship is more important. We value each and every member.

A few months ago DALnet changed their AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) and banned all file serving on their network. Many channels switched to other public networks such as EFnet. United-Movies moved to its own private network so we can ensure stability amongst the network administration. We also retained a non-file sharing environment on DALnet and setup channels on EFnet, Saltek, UnderNet, and United-Movies.net. There is an average of 150+ users on United-Movies.net (our network) with the majority of our fileservers serving in #United-Movies. However, you can find your way to us on any of the above mentioned networks by joining #United-Movies or #United-School.
