He saw her while he was singing,
An elf clad all in white,
Her gown around her swishing,
Her beauty was like light.

He called to her shouting,
“Trinuviel, Trinuviel!”
Like Beren before his time,
He found her sublime.

“Why by that name do you call me?”
Her clear voice like bells.
“For like Luthien’s, your beauty be.”
To the elf Arwen he tells.

“Though I walk in her likeness,
As many have told.
The fate that awaits me,
Like her’s it may unfold.”

In the stars it was written,
The doom appointed to them,
The love in them awaken,
Thus their story commenced.
